What is it called?
Maine’s program is run by the Maine Department of Labor – Bureau of Unemployment Compensation. Their system is called RE-EMPLOY-ME.

File for unemployment benefits through RE-EMPLOY-ME

File over the phone Monday – Friday, 8AM - 12:15PM: 1-800-593-7660 (TTY Maine Relay: 711).
Info you need to apply
These documents are needed to file an unemployment claim
- Social Security number
- The business names, address and telephone for all employers you worked for during the last 18 months
- The jobs you held, and dates of employment for each employer
- If you were separated from the following entities, you will be asked to provide the following forms:
- Military: DD-214 form
- Federal civilian employees: SF-8 form or SF-50 form
- If you are not a citizen of the United States, you will need your Alien Registration Number if applicable
