What is it called?
The Missouri Department of Labor & Industrial Relations runs the state’s Unemployment Insurance (UI) program.

Online
The fastest way to file a claim is online. Log in or create a UInteract account here. To file a claim online, you must create an account on the UInteract portal.
By Phone
You can also file for unemployment benefits or get help with your application by calling the Department of Labor. The number you call depends on your location:
- Toll Free: 800-320-2519
- Jefferson City: 573-751-9040
- Kansas City: 816-889-3101
- Springfield: 417-895-6851
- St. Louis: 314-340-4950
Info you need to apply
To apply for unemployment, you need to provide information including:
- Social Security number
- Total earnings for the past week
- Name, address, and dates of past employment
- Banking information, including routing and account numbers (if you would like your benefit payments by direct deposit)
After you file the unemployment claim, you will need to submit a weekly request for payment. This can also be done either online or by calling the phone numbers listed above.
