What is it called?
The Montana "Department of Labor and Industry" runs the states Unemployment Insurance (UI) program and has a dedicated COVID-19 Resources for Montana Employees.
Online
You can utilize the online MontanaWorks application to file your claim. This online application is available 24/7.
DLI is requesting to file applications online unless you have received official notification from Unemployment Insurance that you must call the DLI call center.
By Phone
If you have received official notification from Unemployment Insurance that you must call the DLI Call Center, the Claims Processing Center’s number is (406) 444-2545. They are open 9AM - 4PM, Monday - Friday (subject to change).
Info you need to apply
To apply for unemployment, you need to provide information including:
- The dates of your last place of employment
- The business name, address, and phone number of all employers you have worked for in the last 18 months
- Your banking information
- Your Social Security Number
- Your Alien Registration Number if you are not a U.S. citizen
