Why is it so hard to find a job without a degree? I have experience as an office/administrative and receptionist but still can't find a good job. I've been applying for jobs for over a year now with no success.

I loved working at Figi's. They have a flexible schedule and they're great at training their employees. If I could come back to work at Figi's I would do it in a heartbeat. It's a great place to work.

The company was a very nice place to work. They trained you well and were ALWAYS open for questions and suggestions.

Along with that, the people were nice...from the CEO down to the office clerk.

I’m having a hard time moving out of the field of childcare and into an administrative role. Decent paying role are required a bachelors. It’s very frustrating especially since I’ll be going back to school in the fall

I was hired by Swiss Post Solutions in 2011 and stuck around through the years working at 60 Wall st. in the position of Guest Services and did my job great and was praised by a lot of visitors and employees and saw a lot of my co-workers leave or be fired and worked my way up to be the senior employee through the course of 7 and 1/2 years...My ex-boss was laid off after the same amount of time in Aug of last year and then a new boss with 1 year experience in the hotel business was hired to our manager...She started to criticize my friendliness to visitors in being helpful when before my old boss would praise me as she knew I was doing a great job...Things went downhill from there...They offered me a new position with Reprographics in Oct. of last year learning a new trade but standing up all the time as opposed to sitting down with guest services as I have Sciatica and cannot stand...I declined the offer even with a $1 raise and then they called me into a meeting and said if I decided to stay at guest services that I would have to be more flexible (working 10 to 12 hr days sometimes) and I told them when I was hired in 2011 Swiss Post gave me a static job meaning hours were from 1pm to 8pm...they refused to budge and then gave me a hard time...I couldn't stand to be bullied so I took the Reprographics position at the same time slot at 1pm to 8pm...I learned everything from the bottom up working with digital copiers and binding books and my co-workers who did this for 15 years told me I was doing a perfect job...and then after 2 months I was informed from my new boss there that I was being laid off because they were overstaffed...I then went back to my other boss upstairs and she told me my position had been eliminated...I spoke to my ex-boss (the one who was let go before me) and she told me I was set up!!!...Swiss Post has no union so I din't complain at the time but since I spoke to a lawyer and he told me I should filed a complaint with HR before I was let go because of age discrimination and the fact I was white & 63 y.o. & my new boss was black and every other co-worker was either Hispanic, Mexican or Black and I was the white person there...No loyalty with Swiss Post as now they are trying to offer me minimum wage at 8am in the morning which because of medical problems and family I cannot do...I cannot only work anytime from 1pm on mon to fri....I have laid off since Jan. of this year and my unemployment has run out in July and I'm living off my savings...I need a job fast...Please help with your advice and maybe some leads people... Thank you so much for reading this and God Bless You. I am writing this with a heavy heart...I have a 16 y.o. daughter that's not happy right now... I have never missed a day of work in my life and am articulate and have a photographic memory. I am very computer literate and learn fast...Ready to work for 3 more years until I retire... Please help me...Don Marion

I worked as an Executive Admin. to the Plant Director. We were just purchased by our competitor. That was when we were informed it was time to lay-off. I was in the Structure Task Team that were responsible for closing the plant. It was very hard, but the process showed me how to. In regards to telling people who you know for man years, that they are laid off. But I remained strong in the most professional, transparent, efficient, & confidence manner.

The biggest mistake I made while at United Rentals was to trust that my boss had my best interest at heart and would live up to the promises he would make. Won't make that mistake again. Almost 11 years wasted on an unappreciative Irish douchebag. He only cared about one person - himself. It's a shame that he is on the fast-track to become the next CEO (after Flannery retires) because he is the absolutely worst boss I've ever had. He shouldn't be allowed to have direct reports - he is really that bad.

I recently graduated with a certification in EHR, a Medical Administrative Assistant and CCMA. The local hospital I work for is on the Epic program system, another one of our local hospital is implementing the Epic program in Nov. A friend who works for that hospital told his boss that he knows someone, which is me, with Epic experience that is applying for the Epic trainer position. She was interested in me and asked for my resume I sent it to her and she told him to tell me to put the application in. We have been corresponding through emails and telephone calls, she has not received my application yet and i'm afraid to call her again to see if she has received the application. I want this position badly, but I'm not sure if I should call her again. THIS position would put where I need to be this part of my life and get me off the hospital floors. I have had some job offers for a CCMA and position I have turned down I'm afraid to turn anymore down, but I need know about the other one before I take one of the other offers, help what should I do?

I had the perfect job. I was working as a receptionist in a children's clinic, making a decent amount of money. I enjoyed what I did, got myself situated, and tried to keep to myself and get my job done. I had some co-workers who didn't like the fact that I was in the position I was in and found a way to get me out of the job I loved. It's been almost 2 months with no leads to even a "decent" job and the last encounter I had was a scam. I have children and bills but no money. What's happening to me?
