Those interested in attending an orientation should apply immediately, as we have orientations filling up quickly. Classes will be held every Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. If you already have one or more of the certifications or have recent IT experience, we can look to get you started on a track that best fits your level of experience. Able-Disabled Advocacy’s (A-DA’s) IT Pre-Apprenticeship Program is a training, certification and employment program that is designed for individuals who have identified their passion for technology and desire to pursue an IT career. Students learn basic technical support skills and attain IT certifications that are demanded by local employers, all at little or no cost. With A-DA’s $3.2 million grant from the U.S. Department of Labor, the training is free and the cost of the exams for two certifications will be paid by the program. During the 8-month program, students attain their CompTIA A+, Network+ and Security+ certifications while attending classes two days each week. This full-time program is demanding; 20 hours of study each week is expected. Stu-dents are required to pass their certification exams by the exam due dates in order to complete the program on schedule.
Pre-Apprenticeships Offer a Pathway to A-DA’s Apprenticeship Program Pre-apprenticeship training is not paid. Students will need a source of income that will allow them to complete the entire Pre-Apprenticeship Program. The program includes career counseling, interview and resume preparation, and job search tips. This training will prepare pre-apprentices to enter A-DA’s IT Registered Apprenticeship Program. A-DA staff will work directly with pre-apprentices to identify employment opportunities that will fulfill the requirements of A-DA’s Computer Support Specialist apprenticeships. Pre-Apprentices will apply for jobs with staff assistance and once hired, they will be placed into A-DA’s Computer Support Specialist Registered Apprenticeship Program. Apprenticeships are a “learn while you earn” model; apprentices learn while working On-the-Job in the IT industry with guidance from a committed employer. To further improve skills, the technical training continues during the apprenticeship, with apprentices continuing to work on attaining the Windows 7 certifications. Apprentices can build a successful IT career without incurring student debt. This alternative to college provides a pathway to be successful in high-skilled, high-paying jobs that are in demand. Requirements for A-DA’s DOL Apprenticeship Program Minimum Age: 21 Education: A High School diploma or GED is required. We encourage applicants to attend postsecondary education prior to apprenticeship application; how-ever, it is not required. Proof of education must be submitted. Education and work experience will be evaluated; apprentices can receive credit for previous education and work experience. Background Check: Apprentices must be able to pass a drug screen and background check. Experience: Experience is not required to begin the pre-apprenticeship training; however, A-DA encourages candidates to obtain hands on experience by volunteering to improve their application assessment score. A-DA can offer suggestions on how to get this work experience. Note that applicants who enter the program with some experience may score higher on the testing and interviews. This is a competitive opportunity.

IT Apprenticeship in NY anyone?
Trying to get in a position to become a welders helper to obtain the 2 years apprenticeship so I can do pipeline welding. I live in altus ok have over 800 hrs logged in autry tech in enid ok. Certification needs to be renewed but willing to do whatever to obtain this life long dream. Anyone please help with this. Thanks for everyone s help
So I’ve been seeking apprenticeship jobs and seems like every time I apply with employers that offer training they always say well you don’t have much experience in this field. Well I have many experiences in many fields especially one where I know I’m capable of performing duties and tasks given. Last one I attended I followed every bit of instructions and was told that I would hear from them in a couple of days. Now it’s been a week. Is their anyone out there with information that would steer me in the right direction. I’m not gonna throw in the towel just yet or not any time soon. Anything would help. Thank you in advance.

It is very hard to get an apprenticeship in the area yu are seeking. You must have a set date when you will finish schooling and your licesened. I would not go with a single person but a larger company that accepts apprentices. and I would apply and send your resume to these companies. I hope this helps. Lisa Renwick
What offers a maneuverable, stable hours with the benefits of being able to attain a career without having to go threw maybe 6-4 yrs. of college?
Is an apprenticeship the best path to becoming a licensed electrician? I’m looking for an alternative to college and my teacher told me to look into training programs in the construction trades. I haven’t been able to find any apprentice job openings online. Is there another application method to get into these training programs? Can I qualify right now, I’m 17 years old?
