I’m 39 and have 2 kids under the age of 3. My firing in April came as a massive surprise as I was #3 out of 7 sales managers at my last hotel. I was mind blown and now for some unknown reason can’t get a job to save my life. It’s been over 3 months with no work and lots of hospital bills for my younger son, not to mention a ridiculously high COBRA plan for me and my kids that far outweighs Arizona unemployment wages. I’ve tried and tried again to follow up with my more than 80 applications I’ve sent in and just don’t know what else to do. I’m great at my job - was promoted twice in 4 years and was repeatedly an employee or manager of the year nominee. I love working and love the hospitality industry - that’s what my degree is in for crying out loud! This whole finding a new job thing sucks and the toughest part is trying to figure out when it’s all going to end and I’m able to get another paycheck again.
What am I supposed to do - send the applications in while sitting in their HR office to make sure I get noticed?
Working at the club house cleaning the pool had a golf cart to get around my chores.

At the time I was the foreman and we were doing an operational Costco in Prescott Arizona. They had to close down part of the store so getting the job done as fast as possible was the priority. I worked side by side with my workers until the job was done. We ended up working a 26 hour shift with me leaving the charge. I don’t ever believe in asking a worker to do something that I am not willing to do myself.

You know what really sucks in the world. I made a mistake and I paid for it I did my prison sentence and my parole. But people in this world still will not let me live it down. Companies that say they hire felons won't even hire me. I put atleast 10-15 application in on a daily basis and go-to the interviews. Just to get the email they went with somebody else. I am almost at the point prison is easier I have been out for over a year and off parole for six months... I guess living in Arizona wasn't such a great idea.. anybody in the greater Tucson area who knows any companies that will hire a felon let me know please... I have no violence or any crimes of that nature
