Indeed protecting own nation from the malign intentions of radical and extremist monsters beside own conventional enemy is the sole purpose of serving in Army

Had a 26 year career in the Army, at first I was looking for something exciting and wanted to fly. Told my recruiter it was that or nothing, so he worked it and I went to school. After that, deployed to combat a couple times and that was an experience of a life time. Then the new age was coming and I was transferred to be an artillery mechanic. Deployed again with them, came back and things progressed quickly. Started getting more job knowledge but not the promotions that went with them. But kept the knowledge and built more and learned more over time. I moved finally to Ft. Lee and had a lot of fun and a lot of work at first. The knowledge I gained and the people I learned from was awesome and I truly miss wearing the uniform everyday. I wish I was still back there all the time. It was the best experience and I wish people could see and know the jobs we've done first hand. We have knowledge that only a selected few have, and once we retire or leave we get forgotten about. I loved the Army and the family and people I got to know and still stay in contact with many of them. Now it's time for the second chapter to begin, I hope it's just as fun and rewarding.

I'm thinking of going to join the Army, or another branch of the Military, but I'm wondering if it's the right fit for me? I am looking for a challenge and a job, as I'm unemployed.
