I just came across this article... and it got me thinking...

What would you do if you got this phone call at work? How would you handle it?

https://weather.com/storms/hurricane/news/hurricane-matthew-united-states-impacts

I'm usually a bit cynical about weather predictions but this is looking pretty scary for our friends and loved ones in the path. Thoughts and prayers are with all our Florida Jobcasers as they ready for this storm and hoping that the Weather-folks are getting this one wrong..

I've been searching for a new job for months and really struggling to stay motivated as I keep getting one "no" after the other. I found myself perusing the internet at random this morning when I came across this little article on The Muse. I've read some of their things before as far as work related issues go, and I really like them! So I'm really glad I found this and thought it would be good to share here for others who might be going through the same problem as me. I hope some of you will also find this helpful! https://www.themuse.com/advice/5-ways-to-stay-motivated-in-a-frustrating-job-hunt

Worst companies for individuals see -- http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/worst-companies-to-work-for_us_575b26b0e4b0e39a28ada793 . Retailers are being hit hard by the post- 2008 aftermath called "The Deep Recession" while consumers are paying off debt as quickly as possible. The better employers represent large tech companies.

I have recently written some blogs about the job hunt. Please feel free to read my postings at https://skiptraceconsultant.wordpress.com/ and there may be some useful information. I have just lost everything. Put things in storage and then the car died. Not great. Thanks to some really great friends I will get back on my feet. Make sure you have a good support system.

I've been feeling like there's a lot of negativity and know it's taking a toll on me, so it must be for others as well. I ran across this the other day about how to really take care of yourself and though I'd share with everyone else. Job searching can be hard and I think we forget about ourselves sometimes. I hope this can help someone here. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/jenny-santi/a-beginners-guide-to-real_b_12156982.html

This is quite simply the best explanation of how online job postings work. Having posted jobs online for a company I can tell this is basically true.
