Okay so I applied for Steak N' Shake, they called me and said I had to do some online tasks and that they'd email me them. 3 days went by.. never got an email. They called me today asking me if I still wanted the job to which I said yes. They said I didn't do the tasks yet, and I told them I never got the email. I waited 4 hours for the email before calling back, he then tells me how to get to the tasks. I did everything he told me to do & in the end it tells me I have no tasks. I'm frustrated.

So I filled out an application online and I also did the assessment test that was sent to me. Then I was emailed an interview date so I confirmed it, I was so excited thinking just cause I passed the assessment test I would get the job. The day came for the interview I was sorta nervous but I feel I did my best with the answers I gave. The next day I get an email stating I was not qualified for the position but it said they do training. I'm so disappointed I really wanted to work for that company.

So I'm really just venting here but would also like some advise . I applied for a job on June 8th with an area orthopedic and pain Managment clinic . I was contacted that afternoon to set up an interview. Showed up for the interview and met with human resources hiring manager. I answered all of his questions and engaged in conversation with him . At the end of the interview he asked if I can take an assessment and aptitude test . I say sure the test was basically to see how well I pay attention to details . After the test he tells me that I will hear from the shortly . About 3 days later I receive an email asking me to take a typing test. I took it and ACED it (they were looking for a minimum of 35 wpm and I typed 78 wpm) . About a week later I received another email from him asking if I can come in for a 2nd interview . I received the email around 10am and he wanted me there around noon . I arrived at 11:30. I then met with the director and department manager . Answered all of their questions . Was told they will make their final decision early this week . Monday comes no correspondence. Tuesday comes still nothing . I shoot him a quick email asking for update NO RESPONSE . Wednesday comes still nothing . Today Thursday I send another email . Finally get a response saying "I was 1 of the final candidates but I wasn't fluent enough in Spanish " is this considered discrimination or should I just lick my wounds and move on ?

I had an interview with startup first two rounds included coding assignments in which they gave me as a task to perform which I submitted to them, they responded that we are not from coding backgroundand it would be good if you come and discuss with us in person and told me that they will give me schedule on Monday. I gave them mine schedule for the week now almost 7 days have passed and I havent heard back. Should I give a folllow-up as they promised that interview will be conducted in that week.

I've been unemployed for six months now, I'm a single mother with two children and we homeless. I been putting in several applications and a few has a assessment test at the end of the application process. But for some reason I can't pass the assessment test for nothing. The jobs I apply for I know I'm qualified for and have the skills to do the job. And do it well. My question is why does the assessment test determine rather you qualify for the job or not? From my understanding all it's asking is for your honest opinion on how you handle things. So I understand on how I don't pass. Why is it relevant for someone to take assessment test. Your resume and skills and qualifications should determine that right? It just a question?

I had an interview in which I was given a coding challenge. I was allowed to do it at home. Once I was done I had submitted it. And now its been more than 2 weeks and I haven't heard any thing from them. I also tried to contact the HR but told me that she had told the concerned person to review my work. But I haven't heard anything yet. Any idea what I should do. I am an international student and just graduated and have very time left. Please help

I went through everything, Please be sure to complete the following items before the event:

On the day of the event, I arrived before the scheduled time (good thing since I had to find the building and how to get in since I didn't have a key card). Once we were taken upstairs to get placed with a call center representative to listen to calls, they couldn't figure out who I was and the same thing when they called me to interview. I had to keep telling them my name so they could have my paperwork, but I think the topper to the whole incident was: By the time I left the interview I already knew I was not going to be selected for the position based on: The interviewer never asked if I preferred to work at home or in the office, which we were told downstairs they would confirm the information we had submitted previously. The interviewer never asked if I had a problem with the schedule that was outlined in the Power Point presentation, which we were told downstairs they would confirm. The interview never included: Assignment that was outlined in the preparation before the event.
It did in fact take 3+ hours of the day to get to that point. I did get the dreaded "other candidates" notice and I did send an email to the talent acquisition team to let them know how I was treated at the event so they could make improvements for future candidates.

A post office that is 20 minutes away from me was hiring for PSE, which is the clerk and people that sort the mail. I took the test and passed with an 85. Week later I got a call about an interview. She told me over the phone it would be part time and the hours do vary. I may also be doing some split shifts. I may work 6-8am then come back and work 3-5. I told her I am fine with that and the 20 minute drive does not bother me. We set up the interview. I'm all pumped for this interview. It maybe part time, but, the benefits and pay from a post office are great. I would have been set. I get to the interview and everything starts out great. But then, they remind me about the split shifts and the drive I would be making. Once again I tell them I am fine with that. The lady I talked to on the phone kept saying they do not pay for mileage and gas keeps getting more and more expensive as the nice weather continues. I told her I understand, but, the drive does not bother me. I'm in Illinois, so, they also kept bringing up how bad winter can be and I cannot miss work due to weather. One person that misses makes everyone else mad and doubles their work load. I told them if the weather is bad I will leave early to give myself time to get there, I will not miss work due to weather. Then we got to my jobs. One question they asked was "how well do you get along with your co-workers and supervisors?" I told them great. I always get along with them no matter the situation. She saw on the application I put I left because of management for one of my jobs. I explained what happened. Which was she showed favoritism towards family. If we were not family we were the ones she would come to when she wanted to do something with them. The lady interviewing me told me I just lied. I told her no I didn't. She said "you said you get along with your supervisors. This sounds different to me." I told her I do get along with my supervisors no matter the situation. She treats her family better than us. I tried talking to her, but it got me nowhere. I did not want to resign, but, I was not going to continue to get treated like nothing all because she has family working there when she is not supposed to." The lady that was sitting in there listening said sounds like you bring drama with you. The lady doing the interview told me to wait a couple weeks I should get an email. As I was getting ready to leave saying bye and thank you for having me. The lady interviewing me kept interrupting me saying okay bye and kept rushing me out. I was beyond frustrated and disappointed. I wanted the job, but, how the interview turned I know I am not getting the position. I even called a couple times to see if the position was full and that I was still interested, but, she has yet to call me back.

I was hired at MaBstoa -NYC Transit Authority by taking and passing a city exam and passing the physical training mandated by the company. I was hired off a civil service exam.

When filling out a application and the behavioral question asks i obey the law more often if there is a chance that i might get caught. From not at all true to very true. Isn't this a double edged question? How do i answer that if i say no then I'm a crook if i say yes I'm just willing to behave because i might get caught. What do you guys think?
