I'm so excited to be back in the working world. I've been a stay at home mom for 9 years and I start my new job next week. Wish me luck...

They say not to include being a stay at home mother, that its not a skill. OK. So for the last 20 years I have not worked. Now the kids (young adults) have moved out. How do I fill out a resume? I am going to online school now but tha is not enough to get hired.

Ive been out of the workforce since my daughter was born. Im finding it hard to get a job and I feel the reason is because I havent had consistant work history.

I've heard if you've been a homemaker and you mention it on an application it will hinder your chances of getting hired. Anybody got a take on this?

I've been out of work as a stay at home mom for 6 yrs. Now that my oldest can pick up my youngest from school I decided to try and go back to work. I spiffied up my resume and put myself back on the market. And now all I get is emails and calls from recruiters and "become an insurance angent" mumbo jumbo... I went through that before it's not for me. I need a job I can start making money now not these insurance training classes ugh....
It's starting to feel like I should just continue to stay home.

It is really hard to get a good job when your last job was being a housewife for fifteen years. What should I do?

I’ve been a stay at home mom for 10 plus years now, and now that my children are no longer needing me at home I have been trying to get a part time job just about anywhere at this point because for some reason the 1,000s of job applications I have submitted in the last year not one interview not one response back from anyone! I have really excellent job skills but nobody seems to want to even talk to me after seeing my resume and application I am beginning to think I may never be able to get back into the work force! I’m very discouraged!

I moved here about a year and a half ago from North Carolina. I was a chef and a server and I worked hard and enjoyed coming home, satisfied and proud that I helped my boss and their business. I met my fiance and quit working and shortly thereafter, i was pregnant and we moved to another state.During this time i was unemployed due to pregnancy and taking care of my step kids. Now I want to work again, and ive sent out many applications to restaurants, but no one has contacted me back. Why is that?
