I got an expensive degree and a lot of student debt. I can barely make ends meet with my current income. I’ve been feeling stuck and really wanted to venture out with a different career or even start something on my own. But I always stopped when I saw the loan payment bill. Have any of you tried a gradual career transition so you don’t go all in and risk everything?

I am wanting to change careers. I have been in the restaurant field for forty-three years and I would like very much to try something different. I am looking for a cashier position and possibly management as well. How do I apply? Thank you, Scott Asberry

I got hired as a yard specialist for the outbound and inbound. I'd like to know when I can move to that position I'm currently scanning boxes in The Gaylords. I am appreciative of the opportunity that was given to me allows me to get my foot in the door. And I understand the whole process but I would like to move the position I was hired for. Thank you for your future feedback. Vilphill

I have a degree in journalism and interned at a really reputable paper and also did some freelance (this was between 2003 right after high school, and continued into 2012. I bombed on my first interview and kept freelancing. However, this wasn't paying the bills. I did a few odd jobs all the way up until I found a really good job in 2016 -- the one I have now -- in procurement for the local gov't. It was supposed to be temporary, but they have used me for 2 yrs (no benefits, not enough money for the work I do, but I have been applying and even had one interviewer tell me I was OVER qualified. Not bad for a girl who once sucked at math and has no accounting/business background whatsoever. Anyway, my problem is I'm starting to miss journalism, but how will I explain the gap in my resume?
