Popping the roof safety hatch during pre-trip & not being able to get it down properly.
Recently graduated from CDL school and ready to hit the road but something I’ve noticed is that my sleeper doesn’t have a refrigerator, and rest stop food is real nasty. Any tips for bringing food or ways to make food on the road? Something simple. I don’t want to gain too much weight on the road. Please share your ideas
I want to get a CDL-A, but could my past be an issue? I've been arrested for possession before and I worry about this more than anything. Can anyone with a CDL tell me if this will be a problem for employment as a driver for any company? Ive been up to some research and I see that they pretty much all do hair follicle testing. Most stating that they test 6 to 9 months back, with a select few testing 1 year back. Im only at 2 months clean currently. So i know I need to hold off a little while longer. Can any of you guys tell me how long you think i should be clean to successfully pass the drug test? I guess im truly asking for companies with the shortest check backs because Im currently a shift manager at a chain restaurant and Im looking for a change in occupation quickly. For the stress that I gain now, on my daily clock ins and outs, its not really worth it. Ive notified my superiors about my career move so I dont just blind side them. I've been with them for over 10 yrs now earning my way from the bottom and they have been really good to me and all of their employees in fact, but its just time for me to move on and do something else. I also work for a contractor car wash at night at a UPS center. Ive talked with them as well to let me know when they have any spots available. I hope its soon so I can get my foot in the door and hopefully become a driver for them as well.
