Carolyn,

If it's something you enjoy doing, then it doesn't matter what others say. Driving truck is a profession that has impacted the overall economy heavily and with the shortage of qualified CDL candidates, companies especially in my Industry are paying increased rates due to this. Always good to be in an occupation where the need is growing.

Best,

Steven

I am so tired of filling out applications. I am done. All these stupid job sites want me to subscribe, they blow my phone up with spam, with no results. It's the same crap every day. I ask for jobs driving a tow truck, they send me Cdl jobs, it does me nothing. I am through with this

I want to start by saying I went to a small trucking school to get my CDL where they didn’t teach me to drive but showed me how to get my CDL. Then I started working for a company that pushed miles but really wasn’t big on training. I’ve been driving about a year and a half. I’m nowhere near as good as I should be. I would like to start over with a company devoted to training. I have a few issues on my DAC report. Any suggestions?

I've been at my current job for 11 years and I decided I wanted a career change and out of factory work. So I got a part time job at a towing company. Did that for 2 years while working my full time job. Earned my CDL lisence recently and applied for a delivery driver job with a nationally recognized food company. I found out today that I got the job. Feeling pretty happy and I don't have to go over the road, it's all local and pays super amazing. The point of this story is no matter what you want in life you can have. I had sleepless nights, lots of hours working and I basically had no life for 2 years. But I knew what I wanted and I set my goals and reached them. Ahhh now I can sit back and enjoy the good things in life again.

I was hired as a "local, Home Daily" ended up as regional. I couldnt stay out overnight (single Dad). So, very stressful trying to complete a 500 mile plus run, along with Drop and hooks inspections etc. in the allotted time.
