I just relocated to Fort Worth, TX and am looking for work. Due to my husband's job relocation, I had to leave my job of 7 years making $57000 per year as an IM Specialist for the department of Social Services, in the highest volume county in NY state. Not that I wanted to, but I can't do the same here without a license, and I don't want to pay money to do a job that was slowly killing me. I have been pounding the pavement for over a week with barely a nibble. I have great skills and a killer NY work ethic, and if I could get someone to meet with me, I know I could sell myself. Any leads or ideas?

The hardest part is no job seems to offer the wage I want to someone with 7 years retail experience and nothing else. Been working at grocery stores since I graduated high school, and it seems that there aren't many high paying jobs for a 26 years old with no certifications or CDL. If anyone has any leads, it would be appreciated greatly.

Hi, 3 months ago I quit a promiseing construction management position. A promotion for me was mentioned earlier in the year by construction President. Though in just 2 years they rotated the lead Superintendent 4x. Every time new one came on it was like starting over for me, literally the most stressful part of the job. They would come on board implementing the way they managed at their last employer, regardless of the way I had been doing it. The 4th one was final straw though. He insisted I CC him on all my emails/texts to vendors and would criticize me in the message regarding my choice of words, totally destroying the repor I had built with Vendors. Tension was building up and one day he emailed me a list of labor tasks, I was already stretched thin and at wits end so I confronted him, aggressively I might add, only pertaining to the list though, nothing personally. He responded by verbally insulting my work ethic. I took it all in and sent my area manager a letter the following Monday describing all the insults, and gave my notice. They offered to relocate me but I wanted to explore other options. Corporate contacted me and said no one likes to be micro managed, and even though they don't consider what he said harassment, they would give me the option not to go back, so I didn't. 3 months later and employment prospects are not panning out, I got a call from a co-worker there, and he asked how I was doing, he said if I'm not working I should ask to come back, a different location of course. He thinks all is good and they most likely will take me back. Im studying for a Building Inspector certification so I can get better paying job as Inspector. I have failed the test once already and am ready to try again. Each attempt cost me $200. Problem is that this certification doesn't guarantee me a job, in fact I may not pass exam at 2nd or even 3rd attempt. My better half is working and totally supports my decisions made. Though I can see her losing her patience if I don't pass exam at next attempt. She doesn't know that I'm considering asking to go back, it's highly likely she doesn't want me to go back. Obviously I can't say anything to her, because if they shoot me down I don't want her to know. But if they consider and I don't pass exam, I would tell her I'm going back...she could still say no, and that's fine I just want to make her happy, and if she is ok w/me continueing attempts at exam then great. So, should I ask past employer if I can go back? Should I even go back??

Have an opportunity to get some more education, but I'm not sure what would be most beneficial. Have some experience with internet marketing, but mainly I'm a writer/content creator historically. Have some IT knowledge, but no work experience. I've looked into marketing certifications and coding boot camps, but I'm not sure what is trustworthy.
