Hi @death wolf , here's one employees comment on the Family Dollar work place and experience...

"Family Dollar is a good place to work especially for an Assistant Store Manager. They do have competitive pay and pretty flexible schedules. Proper training makes the workday go by quick. There is always work to do to keep me busy and that also speeds up my day."

I also was an Assistant Manager. Personally, for me, it was the awesome Family Dollar team that I had working by my side. When everyone does their part and everything falls into place, it’s such a breeze working there.

Did you know that the Dollar Tree offers highly effective training programs for those interested in management opportunities in their Dollar Tree stores?

Why not work AND learn?

Programs for both Store Manager and Assistant Manager positions support the range of competencies that are required to successfully manage a Dollar Tree store.

Manager-in-Training Program

Our Manager-in-Training (MIT) Program runs the span of 7-8 weeks, consists of “operational” training that will take place primarily in a training store, and includes support and follow-up throughout your first year as a Store Manager.

The training is structured to ensure that you:

  • Develop an understanding of and are able to role-model the Dollar Tree cultures, mission, and values.
  • Gain an understanding of and are able to demonstrate the operational aspects of a Dollar Tree store.
  • Develop a routine that you will implement in your own store environment.
  • Develop an understanding of and are able to access and utilize Dollar Tree tools and resources.
  • Assistant Manager-in-Training Program

The Assistant Manager-in-Training (AMIT) Program consists of four parts:

  • Orientation, Basic Store Operations, and General Dollar Tree Knowledge
  • Dollar Tree, our history and culture
  • Basic responsibilities of all Assistant Managers
  • Store Routine Practices
  • Basic Cashier Responsibilities and Register - - -

What made me stay at #DollarTree was the people and the atmosphere. I get to love my job and stated for nearly nine months until the new store manager terminated me to cover her own self.

I absolutely loved working at Dollar Tree. I worked at sure 04434 but the new store manager is very unprofessional and she made it her mission to find a way to get rid of me. She called the police on me for stealing a $972.09 deposit that I didn't steal. And when she couldn't produce any concrete evidence she had to look for another reason to terminate me without abusing me of theft so she terminated me for being late
