I owned my own country store and bakery for 10 years. I lost my husband to cancer and just couldn’t handle the business by myself. Now I’ve been looking for work....minimum wage....do you think I can get work? No....this is ridiculous!

It was a family business and I was thankful to be a part of the family

I have never worked for anyone but family or for myself so this whole process is new for me.

Have you ever noticed the way someone’s eyes light up or their disposition changes when you thank them? It seems so simple, but with those two words they suddenly feel appreciated, praised, and cared about.
Saying “thank you” is so incredibly powerful and sadly not said enough!
**-**You could thank your spouse for supporting you during your job search.
**-**You could thank your children for that hug they gave you this morning.
**-**You could thank the cashier for taking those extra 5 seconds to ensure your purchase was wrapped carefully to make it home in one piece.
Sometimes in life, we come to expect things either because they happen pretty commonly OR we just forget how special they truly are. Don’t! Appreciate every single thing that is good in your life and don’t forget to say thank you to those that helped make it happen.
I thanked my work family just the other day for a wonderful card they gave me that changed my whole day.
It’s truly the little things that matter the most : )
So, who is the last person you thanked?
Why did you thank them?

I have a phone interview with a recruiter from Union Home Mortgage on Tuesday that I am excited about and well qualified for but still, remembering that it doesn't mean I will be chosen "but a good possibility". My husband was diagnosed with Non-Hodkins Lymphoma from using the product Round Up weed killer almost 2 years ago, he is in remission now but, the type he has is terminal and his doctor said it will come back eventually and when it does, it will happen quickly ( there is a life expectancy of 2 to 3 years for his type of cancer )... I have continued working at my current job which I've held for alittle over 13 years but have not had anyone to offer me a better opportunity ( I've been looking for better opportunities for about 3 years ) so my question is... Do I accept the offer from Union Home Mortgage if they offer me the position... OR stay at my current position so I can take FMLA when and the cancer does come back because you do have to be at a job for 1250 hours before you can claim FMLA and I have no idea if he has 3 months or 1 year. I am only at $12.16 an hour after over 13 years at my current job....I know I should be grateful I have a job even at my small paycheck and I am but I want better! I have to say also that my husband has medical through my job but Union Home Mortgage offers medical after being employed after 1 month. I am sorry for sounding un-grateful if I do come across that way... I'm not, I pray to God and thank him for mine and my husband's life everyday along with my other blessings... we both have children from other marriages.

Had to quit,my family was else where, worked to get back to them..wouldnt you?

Family problems

My girlfriend and my baby on the way

It's was my first day after training and I got a comment card. But on August 3rd, I quit because they cut my hours and tried having me put work before my family.
