I have a nice part-time job which I don't plan on giving up. However, I need another part-time job...during school time, it has to be between 8:30am-2pm because I have no one to take my son to school, nor pick him up afterward. I cannot get said job until school starts back up in the fall. I would love a work-from-home job where I could set my own hours...if this is at all possible. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I will turn 50 in the fall, and though I have worked some different jobs, I do not have a degree in any of them...just learned on the job.

I could work the hours I needed to so I could take care of my son while my husband drove a truck over the road. I was able to get my son on the bus then go in to work and get off in time to pick him up from school until someone quit and I had to go on the the weekend and have 2 days off through the week. I was told if I would do this for a few weeks until she could get someone in there I could go back on my Monday through Friday 7am to 3pm that worked out great for me. I said I would because I had someone to watch my son on the weekends for a few week only. I had to end up working over 7 weeks and I would call her and tell her I needed to go back on my schedule that worked out for me and my family. I was told she could not do that. So I was told that if I didn't come in that weekend I would be let go. I could not come in due to no one to watch my son and I let her know for weeks that I was having a hard time finding a person to watch my son on the weekends and I told her I didn't sign up for weekends and she known this before she hired me. So she let me go due to I could not come in on the weekends anymore. I loved working at the plant I was at.

My family moved to another state to start a new life since both of my parents got fired. I had to stay because I don't want to stop my education. But I need a job to survive. I have been applying to restaurants and clothing stores and I have been interviewed but never called back. I don't know what to do. I have no experience but I learn fast. I follow directions, I have a strong character. I am honest and responsible. I know I am capable of working. But no one wants to hire me. I am currently studying accounting and I would like to work in an accounting office, to gain experience. Any suggestions ?

I began work at Compass Group due to re-locating at my last position, I have found a home here and see myself retiring. Well rounded educated people here with good attitudes nearly everyday, these days positive attitudes can be squashed by corporate games. Honesty & integrity are my strongest attributes and they are valued here more than any other business that I have ever worked for.

My #halltank advice

If you want a good family at your side work there. Just really good people there.

I would not. The pay may be good, but they do not care about their employees. Whether you've been there for years or a matter of months, they have no consideration for family for health.

I was having a family emergency and my immediate supervisor yelled at me and told me that company comes before family. We never resolved our differences.
