My resume is really dusty. In 2004 my son was diagnosed with autism and I have spent the last 12 yrs going to various therapies with him and helping him find ways to make the world more tolerable. He's thriving now and it is rare that I get calls from the school to come and get him. How would you phrase this as a positive or would you just let the length between jobs stand without explaination.

Like many others, I can't find a job. The bills are piling up, my husband has dementia and Parkinson's and I'm his sole caretaker. I can't collect unemployment because they consider me a transient worker ( I hopped from one assignment to another). So what's the next step? Do I qualify for State benefits? Where do I find info on that? Who do I ask? I've been sending resumes, filling out job applications, etc. I'm at a loss and I feel like crying all the time.

I've been away from Telecom Engineering since 2002. I am disabled but feel like I can return to work. Is there hope for a 49 year old engineer returning to work with a good work ethic?

#gapsinresume " Wow, it sucks I still can't find a full time job

DO you agree with me or not & I like to hear your feedback?? It's sounds like a very frustrating even more.I'am in a very frustrating / complicated living situation . I'am Mike from Santa Ana, Ca. area.I have been dealing with homeless/ depression / been living in a homeless shelter.Dealing with trying to find a job & during the job interview. They ask me personal questions.Nothing has to do about the job at all. Like, ( Do you have your own transportation ) that is a discrimination-because I'am homeless & I take the bus every where I go. That is a RED FLAG too by putting your-own self down.A lot of company's that I have been threw a job interview. Doesn't hire you-if you don't have your own transportation-recent work experience/etc. SOUNDS BULL SHIT to me Anyway on the positive side of things. I have not been working since last year. So, I have lots of down time.I started volunteering at the CHOCK Hospital in Santa Ana.Three days a week in the inventory dept.I volunteer 2 days a week.Feeding the homeless in Garden Grove Christian Church. I still can't find no JOB__UGGGG..... Another thing homeless people have to deal with..I walk every where I go-looking for work & especially is so dam hot days... I sweat a lot__UGGGG......

For 14 years I have not worked I'm just getting another opportunity to start working again. my kids are older now that I'm going to go back to work . no one will hire me for the reason that I don't have any work background just saying your word was a big thing before and now they need proof, they need blood ,they need everything. how can I look for a job with no background work right now i got a part time job getting payed 7.25 a hour and less that 15 hours. I need to pick my self up more the right way.

I haven't worked in a corporate environment in almost three years, nor working in my career field. Does that hurt me as an applicant when companies I'm applying for are reviewing my work history?
