In goodwill we learned how we should help others

My customers I loved all my customers met some really nice people

I sort donations at Goodwill and you wouldn’t believe some thing that are donated. Last week someone donated about 6 huge photo albums full of family photos! Like full baby pictures and school day photos all the way to graduation photos! It was weird seeing them since it was like seeing someone’s whole life play out thru them! I haven’t worked here forever but i guess this happens when people pass away and their family just doesn’t want to deal with everything.. Its very sad sometimes.. Other times there are good donations that we can send to our district HQ to be sold online

I would go in 30 minutes early to see how thigs are ran in the store

I love working for companies that actually do something for others. I used to work for Goodwill and it was nice knowing that the donated items we collected were used to help people and MANY needed that help.

My last day. I was fired for supposedly stealing something. The item I took was going to be thrown away, and I was given permission to take it, but when I was called in and questioned the manager that gave me permission said he did nothing of the sort.

Making the job fun. We'd kid around and still get thing done. Socializing with the coustomers when on the floor.

Personally, the biggest mistake I made was staying there. They indeed need new management, new bosses, and new routines.

The most stressful days are when its really packed and we don’t have a lot of employees that day. Then we have to do the extra work. But that was everyday because they didn’t hire more people. There was a lot of people wanting to work at my location and they refused and turned down a lot of people which really just hurt them in the end and made it more stressful.

Personally, after my experience I wouldn’t tell anyone to work at goodwill. But if someone asked And they did want to work there I would keep my mouth shut and just let them have there own experience because it might be different for them.
