I love the people that I work with, they are amazing people who work hard and share my exact type of work ethic. I consider myself lucky to be a part of Goodwill Industries. I hope to be an employee for a long time to come. There are always the politics in a job, but at work I feel like a team member and not isolated to watch my own behind but they are watching out for me as well. It's been a long time since I have been a part of something bigger than me.

I enjoyed the employees there and the bosses treated me well when I was there.

I found it a very pleasing atmosphere and I wish I could of gotten permanent work there.

When I felt I was running out of time in finishing my work while I was doing housekeeping, The rooms were being occupied

I politely apologized

I felt it gave me a purpose

I know that it helps a lot of people in need and can't always afford new clothing and other products. And I learned that just because you have a disability doesn't mean you are not uesful.

If you or someone close to you has a criminal background you know that it can feel very isolating at times. Often felons feel that they are cast aside from society and unable to re-enter the workforce, but there are opportunities to explore!
I recently discovered a program offered by Goodwill called “Jobs on the Outside” located in North Carolina.
It’s a free program that assists individuals with a criminal background successfully obtain and keep a job.
J.O.T.O offers:

When you work at Goodwill pricing things is part of the job. But sometimes you will run across an item say for example a frog lamp. You might be thinking, well, WHAT the hell is that worth?! Sometimes it feels like I am on the Price is Right.
Is $10 too high? What about $3? Of course, we want to make sure people get amazing bargains, but we also need to get a fair price for goods so that Goodwill can continue its workforce programs that the sales actually fund.
So when in doubt always ask for help from your manager or co-workers, chances are they will know the fair price if you don't. Plus, talking about frog lamps with your coworkers just makes the job way more fun.
