Getting to know the client and they're specific routine, taking care of and managing their home the way they were accustomed to when they were more mobile. I pulled the weeds from the garden and flower beds; clipped fresh flowers and arranged them as centerpieces. Watered the lawn in the summer and removed the snow in the winter. I loved listening to early life from them; their struggles and how they overcame them. Their education, how they got along with their siblings. I loved listening to music and watching the tv shows that interested them. I became "GDZCHLD", After an MVA- @ such time they told me " I'd Never Work Again", @ age 29.I TAKE CARE OF ALL GOD'S CHILDREN-(CHILDREN&ELDERLY)!

Good Morning Community,
May your days be filled with happiness and joy during this holiday season. Thanksgiving is a time to give Thanks and Blessings to all the things we are grateful for. What are some of the things you are thankful for this Thanksgiving? Sometimes, holidays can be overwhelming to some of us and it is time to also share your time with a loved one. Let them know you are thinking about them. Whether it be a family or friend offering kinds of words of wisdom can always brighten their day. Take the time to be kind to a stranger by simple words of wisdom. Homelessness is a growing concern in our communities and this is just another way one can brighten a stranger's day. Let them know someone is kind enough to say a word of encouragement to them and they matter too. Many elderly, seniors and others will be spending this holiday alone. Some in a warm place others not so fortunate to have a warm place to stay? Please keep in mind the simple blessings you have and share it with others. May Your Thanksgiving be filled with many blessings and Happiness today and everyday forward.

Operating HOPE definitely keeps me constantly aware of all the various needs that exist among individuals/families locally, as well as statewide, nationally and internationally. The needs vary from nutrition, physical, mental, spiritual, shelter, clothing, listening ear to name a few. It's a reminder that God placed us here to remind us we need Him and each other to survive and fulfill our purpose by sharing love with each other. As in 1 Cor 13:13 "The three most important things to have are faith, hope and love. But the greatest of them is love."

When listening and following through by God's leadership on a project or task He has given to you, anything is possible. The right people, businesses, churches and schools will come and support you. Also, one of the top pleasures working the HOPE Garden is watching children from as young as 3 years of age through college, and even adults thru ages 80+ work in the garden with enjoyment. Seeing individuals of all ages work with enjoyment, thrill, curiosity, and partnership with each other brings encouragement that there is still love, respect, grace, hope, unity here on earth and so much more of it all is needed everyday.

As with starting any new project, the first day along with the next several days, weeks, and months, were exciting, energetic, and busy. A lot of planning, organizing, spreading the word, approaching individuals, businesses, and organizations for support took place. In operating a community garden, it involves physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional powers and stress. As usual, you have good days and bad days, but you know and accept when bad days occur and push on.

In my job with Catawba County Government, I had to take pictures of all County owned buildings and property in 2008-2009. While taking them, I became aware of all the empty lots not being utilized. In 2009, while working in my own little home garden, I thought how much food could be produced in a few of the empty plots of property and why doesn't the County or organization start some community gardens. I tried to pass the idea on to bigger organizations that focus on feeding the needy, but it didn't grab their attention. God kept reminding me throughout the year to push on. So I finally determined which of the few lots would work and be convenient to start the gardens. I am also Director/Founder of the WNC Epilepsy Association. So I approached the owners of 2 lots, one was Catawba County Government and the other Catawba County Schools about the possibility of leasing the lots. After a couple meetings and conversations of legal issues involved, both agreed to allow WNC Epilepsy Association to lease the property lots on an annual basis for $1.00. In 2010, the HOPE (Help Our People Eat) Garden Project began.

So glad I didn't give up. Finally, after moving to a new state 2,000miles from the previous one, I got hired in a good fit position. Although I went through an agency, it happened so fast to my surprise & the team I work for is very cohesive. The journey was very VERY hard while battling homelessness & sadness along with my husband. It was such a culture shock as a result of moving and a challenge, but made it through it all. Keep hope alive everyone. Keep moving forward. No matter what it takes, persevere. I speak life to you all looking for employment this day.

I have been working for a "family owned" company for over 2 year now. Long story short at first it was great, A m-f 7-5 job. Well now over a year later & hanging in there with the company, a few weeks ago my boss tells me to call him before I come in because there might not be any work! I've given estimates on jobs, worked by myself & pretty much did A lot of his work. Out of the past 3 weeks I've worked maybe 6 days total & He knows I have a family to support with children & recently found out we're having another baby. While I've been out trying to do side work my wife has been putting in application's for me. She's been telling me I deserve a better job & one that appreciates a good employee. Well today I got a e-mail for a immediate job opening that she applied for. After a few emails & a phone call I start a new job first thing tomorrow! I called my old boss & asked if he heard anything of course he said no. So I'm out with the old & in with the new, I'm very excited & optimistic, especially with a bigger company, a pay increase& the need for a better opportunity! My point of this is if your experiencing something similar, don't give up, hang in there & if you look you will find a company that will value a good employee!!

I see so many depressing post of how people can not find a job, or or are not being called back from employers and how life is just so horrible and not fair. Hello people, we live in one of the most economical booming society on the face of this planet!! There are hundreds if not thousands of companies and employees looking for people to work for them because in all honesty they need people like you and me to do the work that they're not doing! You gotta also remember that there are hundreds if not thousands of people applying for the same job and same position as you, and only the Best wins at the end. Trust me, I know how it feels to be denied a position or have a door closed in your face. That doesn't mean stop trying. There is Always a way!
