A couple of months ago I had moved to the Phoenix, AZ area and changed my life leaving almost everything I knew behind. I was suddenly let go from my position I had moved here for and made decent money at $19 an hour. It's been almost five months now and I still haven't been able to land anything. I had one promising opportunity that I had interviewed for twice but was not chosen for the job. I have been trying to stay positive but I'm starting to become frustrated about all of this. Does anyone have any advice for me? I've tried to get positions with lower pay as well but they usually do not offer full-time hours.

Sometimes you need to lower your expectations. I see a lot of posts here focusing on problems when really there is an easy solution. Remember $7.25 an hour is better than zero dollars an hour. Lower your expectations And get through the slump.

If you have a car, Delivery drivers are always needed. If you have a pulse of valid license and insurance they will pretty much hire you on the spot.

No car no problem, McDonald’s gas stations Hardee’s Taco Bell Wendy’s… The possibilities are endless.

Sometimes you have to do something that you feel is below you while you wait out something that is the perfect fit.

Don’t give up just lower your expectations of Immediate income.

Good Afternoon all...

I'm in need of some advise here. Currently I live in NJ, and I've been commuting back and forth to NYC for work for the past 18 years & I am drained! I work in the Operations/Wholesale field which I've been in this current company for 3 years which I love. Well, I've decided that I will relocate to NC by the summer of 2020, and will like to remain in this position. What are some good pointers or pitches that I can bring to my employers attention to allow for me to work remotely. FYI- there are a certain number of employees which work remotely from other countries, but I'm sure it's to cut cost.... thoughts?

So I am taking a year off from college since I am not sure what I want to do with my career. I’m in some debt and received a food delivery job where I am averaging $15 an hour. I love it. I am over customer service jobs as I been doing it for 10 years. I’m 28 and thinking of getting a CDL liscense to get a truck driver job :) I realized I’m not into office jobs and love driving jobs :)

So I just took a leap of faith and moved from a small town to large city. The move was well needed. Anyways I applied to many places before I came up in hopes to have a job ready for me when I came. I had 3 interviews lined up for my first week, and all on the same day. I went to the 1st one and the interview seemed to went well. However as I watch the staff I would be working with no one had a smile and all look real unhappy. I then go to my next Interview the Interview went well because I was offered the job during the interview and I took it. The pay was fare. I than messaged the 3rd Interview to tell them I was offered a job somewhere else and I would not be coming for the interview and thanked them for taking the time to scaled a interview. Two days went by and the 1st interview contacts me and offer me the same job as the one I took but for $1/hour more than I was offered from the job I took. So after considering the offer and I decided to turn the higher paying job down. Solely based on the fact the staff all seemed nerviness and unhappy. I have been at the lower paying job for 1 week now and I Like the job and all the people I have meat working so far.

Do you think taking the lower paying job was a good Idea?

When my 30 day comes the manager will review my work and stuff and I know I am doing great everyone around has told me so. Should I ask for the $1/hour more and use the messages between me and the Higher paying manager as leverage to get the extra $1/hour from my current job?

I have worked my job for six years. After about three years after I started, I was told that I would have to be a sub-contractor and no longer be an employee. I was not given a choice My insurance, retirement, vacation, and other benefits were taken away Now, after three years, they are saying that they are paying me too much. I work over fourty hours a week and do a good job. It's contract time. I can't afford a pay cut. What would you do? Thoughts?

So at only 35yrs old I have afib and have had 4 cardio ablations in the lat 2 years. I had an amazing job that I loved and was great at! The pay was also amazing. Unfortunately it stayed between 100 to 140 degrees with high humidity at all times. I was forced by my doctor to quit.... she said quit or die were my options. I was hysterical and cried for about 2 months. Now I'm working at a place I really enjoy and see myself having a real future at, my bosses are blown away by my work ethic. I learn every station in less than a day, never miss and never late. The problem is I was barely getting bills paid due to this job paying 7$ less an hour, then I get a garnishment for medical bills, not to mention this being the slow season at my new job so hours have been cut to less than 30 a week... I am completely desperate for advice or help on how I can find side work or even a second job that will work around the schedule of my current job. I don't want to lose this job because in 2 years I'll be back to making 18$ an hour if not more. However if I lose my house and vehicle in the process what would the point be? Any advice or help is greatly appreciated. I have lots of experience in several different areas, and I take pride in working twice as hard as the next guy. I actually enjoy hard labor, it gives me a sense of accomplishment. Thank you for letting me vent.

I want to better than what I am now. I grew as a determined child to learn with a learning disability. Some day I will have a business degree on my belt. As well an ASL( American Sign Language) interpreter. I also want to be a pediatrician. Right now I am putting myself in those steps to get there. I struggled for a bit. Now I am getting my second job to start saving to get ahead on bills and pay debts. I will get myself enrolled into college graduate than start on my business degree plan. I know I can. I have gotten this far in life from all I have accomplished and went through. I have faith and the Will to the WAY to be successful. I know it won't be easy. That is ok. I am up for the challenge. Life has always been a challenge so I beckon it with arms open. So I know that you can do it to. Go for YOUR dream..
