I just read this article and it went on and on about the concerns that advocates had for people using the services because of the associated costs of doing so. Then I read on and noticed the fee was $8/month per employee!

This should be a no-brainer benefit that companies just provide to their employees. No change to their payroll or accounting, simply pay the fee for the benefit and their employees can access their earnings at no cost to themselves and make sure they never get hit with high fees from a missed bill or a paycheck loan.

It would also make traditional employers more competitive with the new wave of gig opportunities which let you get paid multiple times/day if you want.

This seems like a huge missed opportunity, what do you think?

Sadly, Employment Stats look like they are up. Perhaps if they would just publish the $$ made at these jobs, we could really see why those figures are high.

Folks are upset because they are not allowed to remain on the job long enough to prove their worth.

This is what is happening with; ("At Will States")... (Hire at Will) and ( Fire at Will)... We the People are letting this happen !...

There is no such thing as ("Right of Employment") !... Just the fact ("Good Luck, I hope you last")... seems to be the way of the nation right now.

Option (A)......["Make America Great again"] are just words!.

Option (B)......["Let America Work Again"]... should be the slogan...

Come on folks. Stop selecting folks that continue to give us Option (A)

We need real people that understand and provide us with......Option (B).

I applied at over 45 job sites. When I put down my actual age, I was not responded to, or was told that I was not what they were looking for. To do a test, I reapplied for the same jobs, and put down a younger age. WoW. No supprize there. They wanted to interview me.

Please don't preach the law about discrimination.

Many companies (Large ones) are doing it and getting away with it only because folks will not go after them. Can't afford a lawyer and the lawyers out there really don't want to end up in court to help you fight for a job that may only pay $15.00/hr.

I love America. Where are the 70's 80's 90's when you could get hired at any age?

I recently got really sick and lost my job. The company never paid me for 2 of the days I worked I have tried everything on my own to get paid. How does it work with the labor board helping me get my money. I have kids I need to care for and I just want my money.

As a salaried employee, you are consided an "exempt" employee. Short of an HR policy that indicates that you will be compensated for anything over 40hrs (state of Texas gives comptime over 40hrs to exempt employees) they are within labor guidelines to work you you the extra hours as long as lunch and required breaks are given. HR works for the company, they are not necessarily your friend, so be careful to who and how you complain! Learn your HR manual and your rights, don't take anyone's word for what the policy is, see it for yourself and know it by heart. Having the policy on your phone for quick reference is a good practice and if you are a veteran, someone with special needs, or disabled, know your company's policy on resonable accommodation, and what benefits they have for you!

In working with agencies , I noticed they try to low ball you on pay.

Be aware of this, ask the interviewer what the job pays and compare what the agency pays These amounts should be consistant.

I know they get commisions off their base pay but keep in mind there are no benefits with agency. So they get paid a contact rate from the employer they represent.

Exp: Contact rate $34 hr Agency pays you $ 19 hr

If you are in demand then you can command better pay before excepting what they want to pay you.

You are paid by the agency and they bill the employer.

Good luck!!!

I love what the job represents and how we help public school students but the people in charge are unprofessional and un fair. Also no adult could live off what is paid.

I have a question and i need an answer! If you get hired on a job and they quote 12 dollars an hour to you and 10 dollars an hour for training. When you get out of training you only are getting paid 10.50 if you meet 37.50 hours you will get the 12 dollar rate but its not 12 dollars its an extra 150 dollars incentive added onto the 10.50 an hour for working the 37.5 hours. Then if you work holidays you dont get holiday pay they pay you the same 10.50 rate for double time. How is that legal for a call center in the state of Georgia? Somebody please help me understand this.....

I am an older worker (over 60) who has worked as an administrator with experience in bookkeeping, personnel, administrative assistance and office manager. I have just received notification from Indeed on a position that I applied for (Secretary/Administrative) that there were 790 applicants within a 13 day period. This position was paying $10/hr less than my prior employment. From the unemployment figures released monthly, I don't see how this number of applicants shows a decrease in poeple looking for work, Any thoughts?
