Helping others

I worked for this lady who lied to IHSS and said that I have been working for her for over 6 months and IHSS back tracked my pay. And, she kept taking part of my money to pay other people and keep money for herself. That was back in 2010. I reported it and almost got in BIG trouble with the welfare dept. But God stepped in and touched the hearts of the people at welfare and nothing happened. I quit working for that lady.

I had to handle frogs and crickets. I'm not going to lie, I was scared of them. Plus the client kept fudging my hours and giving more hours to her dad and boyfriend and they were not there at all. I quit.

It wasn't so much that my clients were angry, because they weren't angry, a lot of them were just old and set in their ways and others would play mind games with me (for example : I don't need you anymore to work , can you come back and work for me, I don't want you to come back. Over and over again). So I just tell them I'm not coming back with the mind games you play.

I enjoyed meeting the people and being able to help them, showing them the love of Jesus, and being their for them when family can't, won't, need a break, or just don't have the time or patience.

My advice to anyone looking for work in this field is to work for IHSS I’ve had good clients and never any problems.

I made working with IHSS a great experience because not only do I get along really well with my clients and their families, I make them feel like family.

Working with the elderly can be nice you end up with a new adoptive grand parent to care for
