Last year I had a job as a server/ bartender trough craigist in a club in NYC, i work for them around 4 or 5 months, while my migratory situation was in process ( I was going from temporal 2 years to permanent residence)while this happened my temporary residence expired inmigrationd sent a letter to show my employer that my status was in process, so I did, the manager took me to the office and told me they can't have me working there withouth papers, to wich I said they were ignoring a federal document that I was given, regardless they said i should just go homw, I ask for my dismissal letter they told me I wasn't being "fired", so they can't give me one, they simply stop given me days in the schedule. IDK if this is legal, but it sure feels offensive and wrong.

Boston, NY and other large cities have restaurants and other places of business that have decided to shut down for the day and others for an entire week in protest of this nation's unlawful treatment of immigrants; especially children --- this type of civil disobedience makes me proud that many businesses today are putting people before monetary increase.
