good morning folks, but the land of uncle sam is encrible, my name and Gerson i'm brazilian i live in florida for 5 years, i'm 50 years old, my whole life i was a technology person, i specialized in database and ERP (oracle / Sql-serve / Sap / people soft / unix / linux ...) in brazil i worked in big companies i acquired a lot of experience, my english is good for reading and writing to speak i am still doing Improvement and learning problem at the time of the interview, in this 5 years of USA I was not able to find a job in my area, today I provide remote service for a company in Brazil, I just have a doubt, "here USA companies need professionals or people to speak" thanks #interview

I came to America from Africa. Went to school, finished my MBA but do not have any working experience in America. So I get interviewed by a big company in fort wayne. I believed the interview went great but at the end I started feeling terrible. I was asked whether i love working in a team or not. My answer was yes I love working in a team and i even gave examples related to my past work experience. But after answering that, the interviewer said, they need someone who is independent. Then they asked me where i see myself in 5 years time. This is what i said " in 2 to 3 years, I see myself becoming a true expert and master at this position in your company. I plan to really immerse myself in this position, understand the areas that need to be improved, discover the ins and out of the business then also look for opportunities to make my team and department as efficient as possible. Then in 5 years time, I see myself extending my expertise in different departments through applying my skills and knowledge obtained from my role". The interviewer replied, no way you would wish to extend your expertise, u just need to stay in that position or maybe go for a receptionist job. Wowwwwww I felt terrible, coz the position I was being interviewed for was in credit, but trying to lower me down made me feel terrible. I asked them what major skills are they looking at, for someone to take the position, the interviewer told me all they need is someone with great computer skills. I told them my first degree is in Information Technology and am also well vast with most excel functions. Wow the interviewer just looked at me, then i asked if there a chance of me getting the job, wow the interviewer reminded me how I dont experience in America and that i need to much training. Really felt horrible. I am wondering how i can get experience in America if companies feel they dont want to hire you. The interviewer never seemed like a true person coz he seemed against everything I was saying.

I am an industrial electrical technician here in Nigeria, due to bad economy and economic hardship, i intend to seek greener pasture out side Nigeria, so i applied for job online fortunately for i found jobs, atleast i found like 3 job which they sent my appointment letter and offer of employment in America. They must disgusting side is that i have no money to sponsor myself, no sponsor to sponsor my traveling to get a job, not even company who will care to sponsor my traveling over so i can pay back installmentally when i earn my monthly dues. All i hope is to seek survival in another country so i can be able to take good care of my pregnant wife and kids. Pls is there company or employer who can sponsor anyone from any location who fit a work criteria relocate and later pay back when such a person gets a job either in US or Canada? Are there no one who can help the helpless who is vibrant and agile to work relocate to get a better job offer and later pay back? Because I'm desperately in need of such an angel in human form who can help me with job and relocation sponsoring in which i will pay back as soon as i get a job so i can take care of my family. How does one gets a job abroad?

I was let go from a company in early July after misaligning with management (last day was agreed on in June). I was given too many tasks to do and when I politely asked to delegate tasks to other people, my manager was really rude about it and said she could no longer guarantee a set amount of hours on my contract.

Fast forward, I am now working a seasonal job at Target to pay the bills and I am feeling really defeated. I have been applying to marketing jobs (my forte) ever since I learned I was being let go. I keep having interviews but no job offers other than Target and Ikea. I have a Master's degree in International Communications, and I cannot seem to find a role that suits my experience. I am 25, highly educated, adaptable, and have experience in marketing program management, strategy and social media marketing. I just want something that is applicable to my background and doesn't have me on my feet for 8 hours a day.
