"Interview Tip"

Interviewer: What environment do you work best in?

Bad Answer: I need a quiet office with no distractions.

Instead, try something like, “I work best in an environment where collaboration and open communication are encouraged, but I also enjoy having space to focus when necessary.”

This shows you’re flexible but also know how you work best. #AWU #disability #jobs #interviewtips

"Interview Tip"

Interviewers love to know how you prioritize tasks. Instead of just saying, “I make a to-do list,” explain the process you follow.

You might say, “I start by identifying urgent tasks and breaking larger projects into smaller, more manageable steps. This way, I can stay focused and meet deadlines.” They’ll appreciate hearing a clear, practical approach. #AWU #disability #jobs #interviewtips

"Cover Letter"

Should I or shouldn’t I send one with my application?

Always send a Cover Letter with your application unless:

There's no method to upload a cover letter

The job description specifically prohibits cover letters

You don't have time to write a quality letter before the deadline.

Leaving out a Cover Letter from your application can cost you. #AWU #disability #jobs

"Interview Tip"

Interview Question: what is your greatest professional achievement?

Be careful here. Don't just start talking about a big project you led, or the big client you landed. The achievement you talk about needs to connect back to the job you are applying for. Otherwise it looses it's impact.

Make sure your achievements align with the company’s needs. Show them how what you’ve done will benefit them. Connect your success story to the company’s goals, and that will help you stand out. Good luck! #AWU #disability #jobs #interviewtips
