Got a message from "A Fellow Jobcaser" on this site promoting a company, Wonder HQ, with offices (supposedly) in NYC. Their website (via the message) is:

http://www.wondersurvey.net/

At first it sounded legitimate until I got to how they pay ($350/survey via cashier's check) which was a big RED FLAG for me. They don't state any need to purchase software, etc., up front, which a lot of scammers do. I envision them sending a check to me, miswritten for (for instance) $3,500.00 instead of $350.00 with instruction to deposit the full amount and returing (via wire or CC) the difference between the check amount and what you supposedly "earned," for the job. Meanwhile, the (incorrect) cashier's check comes back to you as phony.

This may be legit but I have my doubts.

Buyer (or in this case, Jobcaser) beware.....

In this day and age, people unemployed, looking for jobs to survive, we have to be very careful of scammers. They're on the best job sites online and just seek to prey on those who they think are vulnerable and sound desperate for money. Please take the time to do your research on these supposedly legitimate employers. If they're asking for your banking information, wanting you to pay money upfront or even send you so called cashiers checks by mail and asking you to deposit it into your bank account with the check being a large amount and only requiring that you get x amount of dollars for yourself and return the other to them through money gram, "Run for the hills" it is definitely a scam. I know if you're like me, you don't have any money to give away or you or I wouldn't be on here looking for employment. Please be aware and if it doesn't feel right in your gut feeling, follow your gut instincts. Please, please, please be aware and careful and much success in your employment endeavors. Please report any suspicious activity concerning jobs to info@jobcase.com so they can look into it and help to protect others from possibly getting scammed.

I was approached by a gentleman that got my resume off zip recruiter. The position was originally a admin position, then it was a personal assistant.....whatever! The gentleman sent me a check for $3250.42 which included my "signing bonus and money for equipment and software that I supposedly needed. I received the check on Friday and he requested that I withdraw money out of my account and deposit it into another bank account. Ummmm Heck No! He is very persistent and will try to guilt trip you to pull the money out of your account before the check cleared completely. Needless to say the check was returned today and I am out $12 . But it is better than the $3,000 that he was requesting.

Has anyone ever heard of this company. I think this is a work from home type job. Fellow job caser posted that they are now hiring. I signed up and yesterday I received a check for $2400.00. $350.00 for my commission and $950.00 to test sending money from Wal Mart and from Money Gram. Well here's what they emailed me with. After reading please advice me. I tried looking them up but got no familiar results on my search about them unless I am reading my searches wrong. WELL HERE GOES.

to me

Dear DANIEL J TOVES,

A Cashier check with shipment tracking number 9505512841617084032591 shipped by usps. The Cashiers check is for $2,400 USD. After cashing the check, take out your commission of $350.00 USD. Proceed to nearest Walmart and Money Gram location to evaluate the process.
  • Evaluation of services sending funds below a thousand.

Due to several complaints of forceful request of ID for the funds transfer below a thousand, we want to evaluate several outlets in such practice.

  • You will make a transfer of $950 using walmart-walmart transfer

  • You will make a transfer of $950 using money gram transfer

Some of the information and details that shoppers usually take note also include:

  • The employee count of the store visible upon entering
  • The time taken before someone greets the mystery shopper
  • The employees’ name
  • Whether the greeting is ideal and friendly, as per objective measures
  • The questions put up by the mystery shopper in order to locate a product
  • The kinds of products displayed
  • The sales pitch followed by an employee
  • If and how the employee strived to close the deal
  • If the employee suggested extra add-on sales
  • If the employee extended a visit-again invitation to the shopper
  • Cleanliness of store and that of the store associates
  • Quickness of service
  • Compliance with standards set by the company regarding service, grooming/presentation, and store appearance

After you confirm to us the receipt of this email, we will provide you with recipient information to make use in both services we are evaluating.

Thanks

Wonder HQ

Just a tip. When a person contacts you that they have a job for you but send you an application or other form BEWARE! I just received an application and a I9 to fill out. Both request a social security number. This is not required and is only a scam. Never give a social security number before being hired.

I received a job referral last week and it was with Wonder Survey. I applied but just didn't feel easy about it. I waited until I received a reply back from them concerning the position offered. Well, they responded and it is not the job I would refer my worse enemy to. You're supposed to be a mystery shopper in Wal-Mart stores concerning their customer service in money gram transactions. They send you a packet by mail with a cashiers check (supposedly )for $2400 and you're to deposit the check into your account and take your $350 pay and send the remaining $950 to an address by Money gram using Walmart. Well after being uneasy in my spirit with this check, I went to my back to find out the check was invalid. My bank called the alleged banking institution on the cashier check only to find out its a scam. The moral of my post is :please do not apply for or cash any check sent by Wonder Survey into your account because you will be paying it back because it's a scam. Thank God for His wisdom. I have no money to give away frivolously to anyone. Please do your homework on these survey jobs to make sure they're authentic.

Greetings all, I have been searching for an online job since about the end of January. I finally received a response, but I cannot help to feel some skepticism about it. My info was applied to a job site, yet the "employer" is causing me to question the legitimacy of the hiring process. I received the first response via text and email, the second and third the same. What's more is that in one or more of the responses there were some grammatical errors and I am supposed to be a virtual assistant for a legal holdings firm. Maybe I am being a little bias, but I have come to expect lawyers, doctors, entrepreneurs, and reputable companies to have a better grasp of grammar and representation that makes you want to work for/with them. Am I being over the top or should I do more investigation to rule out any scams?

I applied to several jobs today on ZipRecuiter. I recived a reply from Connie Dixon saying she was getting back to me about the office assistant job I had applied to. The email went on to say that they would send me a check for buying supplies for foster kids. Pay was $650 a week for 3 days. 15-20 hours. She wanted my phone number and adress and would get back to. The email had to no business name nor did it have her title. I replied to her gmail account asking the name if the company ( since that's what she emailed me with) and it bounced back saying it was not a valid email. I know we are all looking for jobs, but just be careful.

Dear Rhonda Hall,

First Evaluation :

Evaluation of services sending funds below a thousand. Due to several complaints of forceful request of ID for the funds transfer below a thousand, we want to evaluate several outlets in such practice.

Some of the information and details that shoppers usually take note also include:

The employee count of the store visible upon entering The time taken before someone greets the mystery shopper The employees’ name Whether the greeting is ideal and friendly, as per objective measures The questions put up by the mystery shopper in order to locate a product The kinds of products displayed The sales pitch followed by an employee If and how the employee strived to close the deal If the employee suggested extra add-on sales If the employee extended a visit-again invitation to the shopper Cleanliness of store and that of the store associates Quickness of service Compliance with standards set by the company regarding service, grooming/presentation, and store appearance

Your cashiers check for the first evaluation is on its way. A shipment tracking number will be provided to you shortly. All other instructions will follow

Thanks

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up. There is a scam going on using zip recruiter. They contracted me, told me I was going to have an interview. Had the interview through Google hangouts which lasted over an hour. They told me I was hired and would send me a check to buy software that I would need. They sent me a check for 3800.00 that I was supposed to deposit immediately. Called the bank or was issued on - it was a fraudulent check. The company they say they are hiring for is Al Sayer medical out of Kuwait. That is a legitimate company - the rest is not. Please be careful.
