I applied last night to a job as an Administrative Assistant for Five Star Decorating in the Metro Atlanta area and received this e-mail this morning:
From: Michael Pearson

Getting hired and working for a major global company isn't all what its cracked up to be. I got hired by one of the worlds largest printing companies and was lied to about my hourly rate just to hire me and later come to find out they treat their employees unfairly with no raises and cut hours saying that no one works 40 hours a week anymore. My advice to everyone out there is to get everything in writing prior to accepting a job.

I have been approached, I am disabled from a stroke I don't work They say that have your resume I don't work and have not posted my resume on job sights. I Think it is terrible to scam anyone, especially Seniors and Disabled, I wish everyone who reads this to have a blessed day. There are still good people out there. Regards Pamela Taylorson

I received a Application from TM COMPANY. I filled out the application and Emsiled it back with my Resume. Today I get a contract from them, TM COMPANY? I then tried to call them at the 2 phone numbers with the contract, both numbers out of service. I then look up their address and it is a house for sale, here is the address (607 N 3rd St., Vienna, Georgia 31092)

So i have been out of work for months since a layoff last August. Ive signed up with multiple job and career social outlets that assist me with job alerts and job submissions. I can count the hundreds of resumes ive sent out thus applying for a countless jobs and positions. With no job, spiraling debt, bill mounds, and life's responsibilities, I was reluctant to take a job offer that was extended to me via email. With my back against the wall i decide to take a job that allows you to work from home. The company seemed legit after researching it. They sent me paper work through email getting all of my personal and financial info for direct deposit and so forth. Completed W2 forms and signed company documents about responsibilities etc... So im completely nervous of course., scared out of my mind asking myself 'can i really take a job where i only work from home'? The initial challenge of not having a home was striking. So finding a local library where i can work the neccessary hours was exactly what i would have to do if i wanted to get back on my feet financially. So the company reaches out to me and ask me to do a research paper; and another within a couple of days later. My initial thoughts were they are trying to see if i can be trusted and competent enough for the position. They praise me for my efforts. Said the research papers were great and i was exactly what their company needed. Now im saying to myself, 'Hey, I can do this job, not bad at all...'! So the company sends me a check to purchase my work materials.., labtop, 4 way printer, desk filer, etc... I deposit the checks into my account only to withdraw it to place funds into a business account for materials to be later shipped to my address. The company contacts me and says that the materials needed for the job are no longer in stock so i would need to upgrade my materials to start training in the coming days. The next check they send to cover working materials was worth $9,000... long story shorter.., the bank closes my account and later informs me that the company checks that i have been placing into my account were counterfeit and my account would be closed due to the matter. So with my back up against the wall, i take a job because it was the only thing available and offered. I had No money, no help, no leads, no call backs after awesome interviews, no real consideration after over 300 job submissions..., and the one job opportunity that comes my way is some gut wrenching crew that committed fraud on my behalf unwillingly and unknowingly. I felt duped and violated, how stupid could I be to not see it dangling in my face. Being desperate during desperate times created to much of a smoke screen for me to decipher the intangibility of it all. So after laying my soul down to a company in which i thought they were the KION group, ive been left with a closed bank account with a negative balance along with a hefty police report to sort through as i pray that i can actually find a real job that actually pays me money as oppose to stealing the only thing i have left in life at the moment.., my name and integrity.

I applied and was hired after 4 long hours and 50 mile one way drive with little gas to a job at the airport that sounded great.. so I went was hired on the spot told I'd b contacted to get finger printed. I asked a dozen times what the pay/ benefits etc were.. not once did I get a firm answer until I wasted more time and gas for fingerprints that they finally told me! Passenger assist job at DFW International airport for $6 per hour!!! That won't buy gas!!! So disappointed!!! Be careful!

I was a potential employee call in on a scheduled interview at the Shari's location in Roseburg, OR. I spoke on Thursday, February 9th with Desiree, who scheduled the interview for Saturday the 11 at 3pm. I was lead to believe that she would be conducting the interview. When I arrived, I was informed that she doesn't work on Saturdays, and John was the General Manager I was supposed to interview with, but he had left due to a family emergency. All this was a nasty suprise to me, as no one contacted me to reschedule the interview, and I live quite a distance from the restaurant. I reluctantly rescheduled for Tuesday, Feburary 14th at 3pm, thinking John would be there, which they had informed me he would be at the reschecule.
When I arrived on Tuesday the 14th, I was informed John wouldn't be back until Thursday, but Tiffany would do the interview. I waited there until 3:30, and no-show from her either. Again, no one contacted me ahead of time to inform me of the changes to the personnel or schedule. This is VERY POOR management. What this tells me is that working there would be a liability, because if they act in this manner with potential employees, how do the treat actual employees?
I am spreading the word about the poor management to all my friends and associates, suggesting they boycott this location. And I really hope that this is not how your operation functions as a business model. Employement is diffficult to find in Roseburg, and I'm hoping management at this location is not using this as an excuse to continue these poor practices.

Every Christa's and July 4th this company provides "Roadshow" merchandise to Sam's Clubs. I have made the mistake of accepting their offering of work 3 times over the past year and a half and have NEVER BEEN PAID AS PROMISED. they always come.e up with some excuse at the end of the Roadshow as to why I'm not being paid the full amount... You didn't complete all your visits as scheduled. You didn't turn on paperwork or pics. You didn't respond to an email with additional instructions......Funny though that my AOL address hasn't changed and I am getting your emails now! If I knew how to report them for non payment I sure would do it. Take my advice and do not accept I depend don't contractor work from the unless you like to work and not be paid Kimberly Ballard Bristol VA

I might be old but I’m not stupid. I hate how managers try take advantage of honest people struggling to find a job to keep from losing everything in their life. They think our desperation automatically makes us easy targets to lure in and accept whatever crummy jobs they’re offering. Today marks the 3rd time I’ve been misled by companies offering jobs and wages that don’t exist. The first 2 were bait and switch cons and the job I was contacted about today is flat out scam. How can I avoid these predators and still keep my contact information available online for legit job offers?

I'm in college the company's are so greedy to not loose they position...so they try alot games that they think I don't see ... there are people that lie management especially because your over qualified.. they know you got college first they stall on the interview.. leave when they supposed to be interviewing you ... they stall leave you sitting for an hour I've counted to only waste time and say can you come back ... but put on paper something negative when you aced it.. so that other think you just don't want to work ... ( NO THAT'S NOT IT ) I shouldn't be treated like a fool ... then they lie on my resume paper .... so if your not going to do me right then don't deal with me at all
Michael
