I am a hard working person like every one else, I started working since I was 15. I always wanted to make money to buy my own things and be able to help my parents. When I was 18 I started working in a job where I learn a lot and thanks to that job I got Experience and believe I can do many things. not going to say names but they were haters everywhere you go, I got laid off for no reason for 4 years working and dedicated my self working for that company. they didn't need me no more, after that I had to move back to my moms house and help her and my little brother with the rent, I had no job for 2 month until I found one in Aventura but few month later I had to move to west palm beach with my boyfriend knowing that my family are okay now and now I am 5 month working in a company , working till late to make the 40 hrs because it's 35 hrs not 4o bi*weekly not to mention. we don't get paid like every company does on Friday every 2 weeks, we get paid a few day later. i get so stressed waiting till i get paid because we don't get paid on time.I believe there is something better out there where they offer a better. a company where you be appreciated and respected in how you work and dedicate your self into your work. I am in a need of a job please if you know something let me know. I'm still applying every where.

Out of nowhere with no warning, corporate flew in to hand us our last check and say thank you. I am looking for a family oriented positive environment. Does anyone know of a salary plus commission sales job? I would go back to selling mortgages possibly...

Ever been “laid off” or terminated because it’s not the right “fit”? Bunch of BS I say , this has been my luck for awhile now , while I’m an RN people think they’re are jobs everywhere, for me no because of physical limitations, I am going to interviews got a job then was told they’re census went down and they had to postpone the position, so I am Per Diem every where , and have 3 months rent left , I’m ready to go to Trader Joe’s but afraid to be told I have no experience or overqualified....I have interviews Thursday and Friday . Does anyone know if you can file taxes if you have more deductions than income? Feedback is appreciated

Getting laid off or fired is tempting to dwell on what happened. That can be a dangerous road to go down, as focusing on the past can prevent you from achieving your future.

Yes, you're going to be asked why you're unemployed during an interview and it may be tempting to use that as an opportunity to tell your side of the story BUT.. that is a bad idea. Take the high road.

Be upbeat even if you were wronged by your previous employer. Tell the truth but keep it brief and focus on your desire to find new challenges, not any bitterness you have over what happened.

NEVER DISPARAGE YOUR PAST EMPLOYER - In many industries - especially the major players know each other. The person who is interviewing you may know your past boss was difficult to work with or that company has a terrible reputation. If this ever happens to you and they start to critique your former employer - don't take the bait. Take the high road with an answer like, it's fair to say there were challenges but I prefer to focus on what I learned from handling them. Just because the interviewer opens the door, doesn't mean you have to walk through it.

DON'T BASH YOUR OWN CHOICES -Focus on the opportunity ahead of you, not for what might have gone wrong in the past. You may have regretted that you didn't leave the company sooner - before a layoff happened. Don't bring it up. Keep the conversation on the opportunities ahead of you, and use your past to demonstrate how you've built the skills for whatever is next.

Show that you're excited about your future and that you're not moving on because you have no choice. Employers want employees who want to be there, not people forced to do something else.

DON'T BE OVERLY WISTFUL- It's ok to express admiration for your past employer but you don't want to act like a jilted bf or gf. Maybe you would have been an employee at the former company forever if it was your choice but your new employer doesn't want to hear that any more than a new person that you're dating want to hear how you'd take your ex back in a heartbeat. You just blew your chances with that person and they, of course, will run and not look back.

FOCUS ON THE FUTURE - Answer their questions truthfully, but try to make your interview about the future. Layout how your skills and experience make you a great candidate. Have a positive attitude, even if you just went through hell and let the past be the past.

YOU GOT THIS!!

For over two years now, I’ve had 5 jobs. Four were temp to hire that I quit when the contracts started winding down. In August, I finally got a full-time job. The employer was hiring for a contract that was being renewed. On my 89th day of employment, they told us they lost the contract. So back to job hunting again.

Last Monday, this great company wanted to schedule an interview for the only time on Thursday during a time that I could not interview. I arranged a different time for Tuesday the week after.. So on Thursday, their HR department called an said “we’ve decided to forgo the interview and make you an offer”. They said they were going to give me a much better offer than the current company I work for. They said they would have the offer letter to me by Friday or Monday and to call if I had questions. I thought “there is no way this is happening to me. This cannot be real.” So as I was driving, they call me and asked if I remembered the interview I had on Thursday at this time because they were all on the line for the interview now. I explained that I told the lady who scheduled the interview that I had a conflict with that day and we had scheduled it for the following Tuesday. We discussed it for a minute and agreed to interview on Tuesday. I have no idea what in the world was going on.

So Friday and today came and went and that great offer letter never arrived. I called the lady who had promised me the letter at 2:30pm and go figure, it went straight to voicemail. I also emailed the lady who screwed up the interview date and time originally and asked if we were having the interview tomorrow. She had no idea what I was talking about but got to me 30 minutes later saying “the team decided to cancel the interview at this time”. So there you have it. I told that lady as soon as they contacted me that I could not interview at that time do a work conflict and this is what I get. Guess she covered her butt and blamed it all on me. I have the email where we agreed to the new time previously. Just stinks!! Maybe not working them was for the best.

I recently have become unemployed with all the stress and anguish that comes with it. I am a certified psychiatric rehabilitation practioner and behavioral health provider that is having to utilize the same therapuetic interventions that I once provided to my clients. I was diagnosed with cancer 3 weeks before my contract ended and wasnt reinstated. How am I going to have the energy to live when everything I have is going toward survival in its purest and rawest form. I'm up against a rock and a hard place in the dark blindly trying to find my why out of this mess.

Hello everyone.. I’m a single dad that lives in Miramar, FL. I am currently looking for a Technical Support position in IT(Information Technology). I worked for an energy company for 22 years but on December 2017, I was laid-off. I have been searching for a new job ever since but have not been successful. I have tried using recruiters to help me out but to no avail. This past November, I interviewed with a company. I interviewed with them 4 times and I thought I was going to be hired. But at the end of December, I found out through my recruiter the position that I interviewed for had closed. The company was no longer hiring for that position. I have applied in so many companies but have not heard back from any of them. At this point I honestly don’t know what else to do. With the exception of not being a programmer, I have over 30 years of experience in IT. If someone can please tell me what else I can do, my son and I would greatly appreciated. Thank you!!!
