Should a new driver get a Hazmat endorsement?
In this video the trainer says you shouldn’t get a Hazmat endorsement if you’re a new driver. I disagree and from my own personal experience, I was hauling Hazmat out of the ports two months after getting my CDL. I also got a $4 raise just for having a Hazmat endorsement.
I recommend just getting all your endorsements so you can be more flexible and valuable. Remember there is a huge shortage of truck drivers out there and many don’t like the endorsements because it comes with more responsibilities. Just get your endorsements after you get your CDL. And when you’re ready take the Hazmat test first because it’s the most difficult. ☣️ 🚛
Any questions feel free to reach out and I can tell you the steps I took to make more money with very little driving experience.

It really depends on what you get hired for, and fir what shift.. A lot of people don't realize how much food prep is involved, like actually slicing fresh tomatoes. The morning shift is usually tasked with that. Basically it boils down to four areas. Food prep and services, cashier, and maintenance. Food prep is usually opening shift, you make sure the food line is stocked and ready to go. They usually start an hour before actual opening the store. Food service mans the food line where your order is put together. This includes the grills and fryers. Cashiers run the registers for dine-in and drive through. Maintenance handles stocking the deliveries, cleaning the dining area and restrooms, and washing dishes. The trickest part is cleaning the fryers. The last bit is management. Every shift has a supervisor and on top of that is the store manager. Those two are on site. Above that is a regional or district manager, they oversea multiple stores or sites depending on the size of the franchise.

I want a new challenge and do something different

On the last day of truck driving school Charlie is taking his test, and the examiner is asking him all kinds of questions.
The examiner asks “What would you do if your headlights went out?” and Charlie says “I’d have old Joe, my co-driver, shine a flashlight out the window so we could keep going.”
The examiner says “OK, but you shouldn’t rely on your partner to help you with problems. What if you’re backing up and the trailer starts to jack-knife, what would you do?” and Charlie says “Well, I’d have old Joe, my co-driver, hop out and help direct me.”
The examiner says “I guess that would help but you shouldn’t rely on your co-driver all the time.”
For his last question the examiner decides he’s going to give a question that no co-driver in the world can help with!
“Okay, now what do you do if you’re on a steep downhill grade, the road is really icy, your brakes are locked up, and at the bottom of the hill is a narrow bridge with a hazardous materials truck coming the other way at you?”
Charlie thinks a minute, and he says “Well, I’d reach over and shake old Joe awake because he ain’t never seen a wreck like we’re about to have!”
😂 Have a great week!
