I've moved from texas to baton rouge La, I have been here a month , quite an experience but I am enjoying the new view . I previously worked at a hotel for 8 years from the bottom to the top ! I was truly heartbroken when my last day of work approached due to husband relocating , nevertheless I trusted that with my experience in the costumer service industry / hotel chain that I wouldn't have trouble finding a job . BULL LOL ...EVERY position that applied for from hotels to generic stores to anything was not either available or I was overqualified . Had a interview last week with a GM of a local hotel during the interview she told me with your experience and qualifications and references I can not hire you I asked why she said and I quote sweetheart you are more experienced in this field than I am , you obviously know way more than me and I would be jeopardizing my job if I hired you , I have to look out for myself. I laughed and simply said if you were so good at your job sweetheart you wouldn't have a problem when people like me walk in your door and you must not be doing something right " smiled and walked away . Now I feel like my experience could actually harm me than help me should I lie and say I don't have experience so I can get hired ? I have another interview tomorrow not sure how to approach this one . Another thing I have filled out at least 100 application on line never got a response all my interviews are based on talking to people asking questions .
