John and Jim bought a dozen donuts for $1.00 each and resold them for $3.00 each. Three customers brought back and received a refund for 1/2 the original cost price. John and Jim resold those 3 donuts for $1.50 each. One brought back his and received a refund for 75 cents. Jim ate that donut. John claims they are short $1.50. Are they short, if so, how much?

I love explaining and spreading the beauty, logic, universal use and effectiveness of mathematics o everyone of ALL AGES. I have taught mathematics to learners at all levels of Elementary, through Secondary, PreCollege, College, and University. My method of Mathematics instruction is a unique combination of the Socratic or "Discovery Method" combined with techniques of "Positive Reinforcement". This is a method whose effectiveness in, and relevance to. the instruction of Mathematics have been proven both in theory and practice.

I am a junior statistics student at BYU, looking for work for the next 6 months. Turns out it is really hard to find a job when you're an inexperienced student in a smart field, 2.96 gpa at a private university. Any ideas?

Highest paid hedge fund manager - mathematician, Jim Simons - was reportedly compensated $1.7billion dollars last year. If we think about 40 hours/week and 52 weeks that comes to over $800k/hour. I repeat... yikes!
