I love working for Meijer

Qualifying and modifying products such as make-up, perfumes and other things like cans

When I was by myself running the gas station and it was packed with customers, and the leaders were calling from the man store wanting you to talk on the phone with them about who did I think might be able to come help me. I mean you would think being in a management position they would have already been working on that three hours ago when I informed them I had no help.

I love that Meijer offers insurance benefits to the employees- even if they have to pay a portion of it.

Got yelled by leadership or coworkers for doing my job or doing what's right instead of how they want that will make the store worse than it already is.

If a customer was mad I would apologize and work together with the customer to resolve conflict. If customer remained angry, I would see if another worker or a manager could resolve the conflict. If a coworker became angry, first I went to the coworker to define the problem. Some issues can be resolved when both parties understand each viewpoint. Then try to find a compromise.

The customers, working with the public

I work at Meijer store lafayette in food clerk position. I'm half-time associate but have been scheduled for fulltime recently. When I asked for the reason, My manager told me they are having a hard time hiring people. He said they hired 8 people for the cashier position and no one showed up after that. In the previous batch of hiring for produce department, I have noticed that they cannot retain anybody aside from transfer associates from other departments. There were times, when they hire a batch of newbie only half retain, other don't even show up on the first day. The responsibilities are by no means difficult to follow. Paid raid is also around 10 bucks. What people are doing out there? Is it too easy to find a job these days? I'm a little bit puzzling with their behavior. Especially, every day I came back from my job, not too far from the store entrance, I always see a guy holding sign said " jobless, spare some money to me. God bless you."
