I was driving in San Diego, working towards my $750.00 bonus for hitting 100 rides within 30 days. There was a $1700.00 guarantee offered if I could accomplish this by May 19th (my first ride was given on May 6th). So on the 18th of May, I determined to reach that goal - I had 15 rides to go as of the morning of May 18th......

Later in the afternoon, I had the pleasure of picking Patrick up from the Hyatt in downtown San Diego. He had just flown in from Florida that morning and was on his way to a business dinner/meeting in Encinitas. We talked about his day and about mine - he was ride number 98!

I dropped him off for his meeting and picked up another ride taking me to Leucadia. Ride #99. Then ride #100 went from Leucadia back to Encinitas.

The next ride offered was for a "Patrick" in Encinitas - same place - and yes! same person!! What a pleasure to be able to take him back to San Diego (rush hour traffic this time). I knew the trick to getting back close to his location and appreciated the awesome smile as he got into my back seat.

The biggest compliment a person can give to a driver is to be relaxed enough with their driving to be able to sleep in their car. (Especially with that kind of traffic!)

I had to wake him up when we got to the Hyatt!! He was VERY appreciative and gave me an extra cash tip as well.

Absolutely the most pleasurable memory driving Uber! I have a lot of good and memorable rides - I LOVE driving! #MyDrives

I started driving with Uber on the biggest night of the year - 2015 New Year's Eve. I was nervous and I didn't know the city very well. My riders were not all sober and my rating went down so very quick. You know what it's like on the first day in a new job, right? Exactly! I made $150 for the five rides I made, not bad on a first night. I eventually left my full-time job mid-January to take care of an ill loved one and decided to do Uber driving on a part-time basis to maintain a double income household. I chose to drive drive at night at first for the reasons of better traffic situation so i can get done as quickly as possible. I had so many unforgettable experiences driving with Uber, but, the one that truly stood out is: This lady somewhere in Wayne, PA requested a ride and wanted to go to a nearby Wawa store. I started the navigation and she started a conversation with me. She was boozed I could tell and I asked her if she's ok. She said, she is not ok so I responded oh, I'm sorry to hear that. She started telling me her situation why she's boozed and it turned out that her aunt was recently diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. I was astounded and I let her know how sorry I feel for her and told her, I know how it feels because I, myself is dealing with the same situation. My husband has it and it's on advanced stage, that is exactly why i am driving Uber - to have a time to take care of him and make money at the time when somebody's looking after him. Her story resonated with my story and we just connected in a different level. It was not a long trip and by the time we reached the destination, she asked if I could give her a ride back home and I certainly did and waited for her while getting her stuff from the store. When she was approaching my vehicle she opened the passenger door and handed me a gift card, and I asked her what is this for? She said for me for listening to her story and she confessed that she just needed somebody to talk to. I thanked her and she thanked me. I felt emotional that night and I actually cried after dropping her off. People meet for a reason and this one is to give some comfort and relief to the other person who is new to the situation. I had two other lady passengers with fathers who also had the same illness. One lady gave me a hug before she got out of my vehicle on 1200 Market St. in Philadelphia, too long of a hug that a cop behind us had to flash his lights on us. Other than that, I was asked for relationship advice by about four people and I was happy that I have shed some light on their boggled minds. Oh, I was also often asked about my name: Is that your Uber name or a nickname? My response: It's my real and only name. #MyDrives

THE DAY I STARTED MY FIRST TRIP I WAS VERY NERVOUS. I STARTED DRIVING TO THE DESTINATION FROM WHERE I PLANED TO START FROM. I PULLED INTO THE SERVICE STATION TO FILL MY TANK WITH GAS. AFTER I PULLED OVER INTO THE PARKING LOT AND TURNED MY PHONE ONLINE . JUST A FEW MINUTES MY PHONE WENT OFF. I BELIEVE MY HEART JUMPED INTO MY THROAT. I ANSWERED THE DESTINATION AND LEFT. I PULLED UP TO HER HOUSE AND SHE WAS STANDING THERE WITH A SUITCASE BESIDE HER. I THOUGT OH NO SHE IS GOING TO THE AIRPORT AND I WAS NOT SET UP YET TO GO THERE. I POLITLEY ASK HER IF THAT WAS WHERE SHE NEEDED TO GO. SHE SAID YES BUT NOT TILL THAT EVENING. RIGHT NOW SHE WAS GOING TO WORK IN IRVING. THEN TO THE AIRPORT AFTER I DREW A DEEP BREATH AND SAID OK. SHE RODE UPFRONT WITH ME AND WE TALKED ABOUT A LOT OF THINGS FROM HOME TO JOBS, TO KIDS, I KNOW THAT DOESN'T PROBABLY DOESN'T SOUND THAT EXCITING BUT IT BEING MY FIRST TRIP AND HER FIRST TRIP IT REALLY GAVE MY LOTS OF CONFIDENCE IN BEING ABLE TO DO THE JOB. SHERRI WAS A VERY SPECIAL PERSON AND I REALLY APPRECIATE HER COMPANY AND THE TIME THROUGH ALL OF THE TRAFFIC GOING OVER THERE. #MyDrives

My most memorable experience was picking up an elderly couple from the hospital, their son had fallen gravelly I'll and had to be transported from Gilbert hospital to Phoenix which is a very long drive, so I picked up the elderly couple from Phoenix to take them to their vehicle in Gilbert, they did not speak English, but I was able to talk to them in Spanish, and they had told me about what had happened to their son and that they had been married for 45 years, they asked me why I was driving for Uber and I told them that because I have been a nurse for 20 years and love to help and give comfort and advice to my passengers, plus I was working extra jobs to save up for a vehicle for my pediatric patients and their appointments. But just a out every client I drive is memorable, I love comforting and giving positive vibes and advice to all my passengers #MyDrives
