Dear,
Is FedEx N.Y. hiring people? I

I'm 16 years old and this is my first time looking for a job. Would this be a good place to start?

Im wondering, i have been on the look out for a position in Help Desk / Desktop Support / Technical support or the generalized title of IT Support and its been months and i have not had a single interview. It could be that i have no college or certifications but i have experience. So far i have really been going at it since november, and I'm putting in about 10+ Resumes to different positions a day.
Do you have any story's about job hunting in nyc?

So I have a situation, back in May of 2013 I moved back to NYC from Colorado. Due to the fact, I had to be a caregiver for my mother that is suffering from Alzheimer. Essentially it is a full-time 24/7 job. Six months ago she went into a nursing home, so it was time for me to re-enter the workforce. I have been in the restaurant industry for over 20 years, starting as a dishwasher when I was 15. I have held every position other than ownership, the last 15 years I was in management. My constant job hunt has been, to say the least, frustrating. I thought, given my experience and education within the industry, finding a job would be rather a cake walk, I was dead wrong. I am now beginning to think that my extended length of unemployment is the major driving factor. Despite my viable reason for not being able to work, it certainly seems that it is affecting my hunt. I know that NYC is very competitive in the restaurant industry. But, really come on, this is ridiculous. These are completely uncharted waters for me. Since 1995 all my jobs have been strictly word of mouth and/or reputation. I had a phone interview with a head hunter that lasted for nearly an hour. It went as far as checking references, now I am CERTAIN that I was given positive endorsements. But I get an email stating that they are going with someone whose background and experience best suits their needs. That I can totally respect, so I sent an email in response, thanking them for taking the time in speaking with me. I asked what was it about my background and experience that did not meet their expectations. Mind you, I have a great resume and have worked for some well known and respected establishments in NYC. All I received was obviously a generic template reply with no details addressing as to what I was asking. I know that I must keep on pushing forward, stay positive, and have FAITH that something will pan out. For everything happens for a reason. So does anyone have any advice, with regards to extended time of unemployment, being the root of my problem?

NYC Police breaking barriers with religious workplace accommodations. Like it or not the face of America is changing and we can expect more religious diversity due to the rising number of immigrants from South Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. Exceptions around facial hair, workplace attire, and time off will need to be updates, particularly with major US cities, to accommodate our new citizens. Kudos to NYC Police for stepping up! http://bjconline.org/nypd-issues-new-rules-accommodating-officers-religious-observance-010217/

As I have been out of work since Sept 2016, I've been trying on a daily basis to find a position in my field of recruiting for staffing agencies. In every imaginable way,I've been looking, but so far no luck. I've also, on a daily basis looked in other fields, but that hasn't worked out as well. I have a real passion and love for recruiting in the light industrial field because more than not, you are helping non skilled people find work and those that are having a hard time find work for many reasons. Students, people with criminal records, those looking for a 2nd job, etc, etc. It is quite a rewarding feeling when you can help someone get back on their feet and find employment. I still have that emence passion. It is so frustrating not being able to find any sort of employment , let alone in recruiting. I guess 18 years experience doesn't count for much. I'm not giving up and I know NYC is a tough market, but where does a 57 year old go to get help in returning to his passion, his field?
