So does this mean that I should I expect a bigger paycheck in December? As a manager right now my incentive to work extra hours is mid and year end Bonuses but I can make a hell of a lot more money if I got paid time and a half for overtime instead of the bonuses. Looks like I’ll finally be able to save some money next year if this is true ;-)

Hope the company I work for doesn’t decide to do away with all the overtime altogether because of this new rule.

What should I do if my boss refuses to pay me OT? I asked my boss about the new overtime law yesterday and he said he doesn’t know anything about that. I work for a small company so the only other person I can ask is the owner but he’s never around. Do employers have certain amount of time to pay employee OT under the new laws? How does that work?

Am I going to have to fight with management for overtime pay? The Fair Labor Standards Act kicks in on Dec 1st which means workers who earn less than $47,476 per year are entitled to time and a half pay for each hour worked over 40hrs. I earn 42K and work well over about 50-60 hours per week right now. I still haven't been approached by management yet but I'm afraid they're going to find a loophole in the law to avoid paying me for the hours. This is the law so they're required to pay, right?

My current employer is not right. They have not paid me my money for working i have since took a leave of absence. This has been going on since i received my September 23, 2016 check when i was missing almost 17 hours off my check including overtime. There response was it will be on your next check. My next check came which was October 7 and out of 94 hours worked my check was under three hundred dollars and i make over $12.00 dollars and hour. So by this time i am very upset they took there own sweet time trying to correct the matter, by this time another payday has roled around October 21, 2016 and i received a check for 8 hours which my benefits took the funds from that so i had 0 dollars. Well today is October 28, 2016 and as of October 22, 2016 they stated that they have paid me all of my money. So i have to go through all of these changes look up my check stubs and prove to them that they have not paid me for my overtime hours. Mind you i got my money a little here and a little there. This was so unfair and my supervisor hands were tied they did all they could do to help me our payroll dept. is overseas and one in another state. Talking about Management failing an employee there was no one who could really help me right away. I didknow that i would eventually get my money that was not the point. I worked and I wanted my money right away not later. so i have to get my overtime hours now. Wish me luck. By the way the Company name is Minacs who is now changing there name to Concentrix.

I'm looking for something more financially. Currently I am working overtime all the time, I would like to see what else there might be for someone who has been in the restaurant world for 14 years. Experience includes BOH with minimal FOH

My coworkers and I have noticed that the last 2 weeks our manager has been going in and changing the hours that we were clocked in. We do not have set end hours because I work in a daycare and we leave depending on when the kids leave. But our last checks seemed smaller than normal. She has done it to at least 4 of us that we know of, shorting us on anywhere from 2-7 hours in the last 2 week pay period. Who do I go to to complain? This can't be legal! If I work 10.5 hours in 1 day, I don't care if we are getting "too much overtime"! She made the schedule!
