You probably have received/given these before. They are compliments: expressions of praise or admiration. Often compliments are centered around one’s physical appearance, body, clothing, hair, style, etc. but they don’t have to be! Here on Jobcase you can give someone the best compliment EVER for their career, in the form of a praise. You can even ask them to praise you back, bonus!!! [Find out more] (https://support.jobcase.com/hc/en-us/articles/115002269786-What-are-praises-and-how-can-I-get-them-) about how praises work.

Ready to praise someone? Yay, here are some tips to help!
1-Try to make sure your praise is at least 2-3 sentences. Saying one or two words such as “nice person.” Doesn’t really tell us much. Think outside the box! What else could you say that made you feel that the candidate was nice? What did they do? Be sure to back up whatever you are saying! "I think this....because..."
2- Avoid the negative, this is a PRAISE not a roast. Think about all the reasons why that candidate is amazing and avoid the negative. As my mom always told me, “If you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say anything at all.”
3- Stick to professional comments. If they came over your house and made you THE best chocolate cake (mmmm!) of all time and they are a data analyst, the baking might not be the best thing to mention in your praise. If you want to include something that doesn’t discuss their profession, make sure you can tie it in somehow otherwise stick to a topic that highlights their career.
4- Find something new to talk about! Look at their past praises for inspiration and see what they are missing. Then once you do this, focus your praise around that new idea to share. Trust me, they probably won’t want a million “She performed her tasks in a timely manner” on their profile. Think about what makes your connection unique!
So now that you are a praise master, go out there and *** give a shout out to someone who deserves it!***
