I have had very gratifying experience in working with International organization (INTELSAT, Washington DC) for over 30 years, producing significant results that save the corporation many millions of dollars; and contributed to the state-of-the-art in many unique ways. Many of my work-results including theoretical, mathematical models and software systems became the standard elements in system planning, design, performance evaluation and enhance efficiency, for applications in the global systems. I single-handedly developed the electromagnetic transmission characteristics for the earth terminals (45 inches diameter roof-top antennas or "dishes", and for the First Digital TV Satellite in the world -- "ECHOSTAR" --satellite ) that has been providing excellent digital TV services in every corner of the globe under the commercial name: "Dish Network" for last two decades. One of my books, "THEORY OF SATELLITE AND MOBILE (CELLULAR) TELECOMMUNICATIONS," (amazon.com) is expected to serve in similar manner and measures. I still look forward to, and aspire, being able to contribute new ideas, systems and service applications in telecommunications and other areas.

I welcome Consultant or regular (FT, PT) positions as Project Manager, Executive, or similar positions around the Santa Clara, California (USA).

Is others having a hard time finding, in Telecom, a good job or even a interview. Below is my summary but I never in my entire career really had this issue and I am trying to not let it get me down but I hopefully others are not having the same experience. I thought it was worth asking...I have almost 18 years of Project Management experience with most projects have been in the Telecommunications field where I have lead client engagements with successful delivery on various types of projects including Quality Assurance Testing, Network engineering, designing, provisioning, installation and engineering Quality Assurance, communication and IT Software development. I have managed high complexity projects where communication is key with internal and external customers, PMO, IT software or associated project engineer and technical staff. Manage internal and external processes and host meetings for status updates including reporting and tracking issues and defects to resolution. Manage, forecast, schedule project deadlines with attention to budgets. Lead and assist in process improvements by building cohesion in a positive work environment. Sufficient with Microsoft products, HP ALM and have worked projects in an agile environment assisted in scrum reports, updates and meetings.

I applied online to several reputable construction companies for a Project Manager position. Thinking back, I should have included a cover letter with each application and resume to stand out with corporate recruiters. Does anyone read cover letters anymore? All my experience and skills are on my resume but I still have time to go back and add a cover letter if that’s going to boost my chances to get an interview. What should I put on a cover letter that isn’t already on the application and resume? Suggestions??

I made the decision several years ago to make a career change into the software development field and returned back to school and obtained a BS in IT Management. I also obtained certifications in Project Management as well as CSM and CSPO. I have been actively looking for a position for the past 9 months only to be told repeatedly that I possess all the knowledge and required skills for the positions I am applying for BUT they are looking for someone with more experience. My question is how does someone gain the experience if no one is willing to allow me to apply my knowledge to the position and get the experience?
