I was on the grill at McDonald and my second day of work I had a manager in my face yelling at me my whole shift. On my hire date I told the hiring manager I have ptsd and can not have someone in my face screaming at me and they did nothing about it. So I quit

I was tricked in my interview. I was told I was getting interviewed to do Massage Therapy. I ended up getting hired for front desk, which it's okay because I do have experience. But as I worked there, I realized how immature everyone was. How unsympathetic the Doctor really is. I was shocked. I had an anxiety attack and literally had to leave the work place. Never happend to me in my life. Lesson learned.

How do you handle a manager who's position has gone to her head and starts abusing her power. This always happens with new managers and they always choose me to dump on. I love my job but I'm getting tired of the games and bullshit. Two people have already quit because of her. What should I do? Our dm isn't going to listen. Should I contact HR or corporate?

I am a seasoned professional. I just received my Master’s. I quit my job in December because my boss was a jerk and treated me like a dog, yet used me to do my work and hers. I have filled out 80-90 job applications, had only 4 interviews and just got a job offer for $30,000. Yes, you read correctly-$30,000. My education cost well over $100,000. Is this all I’m worth. I have cried rivers trying to figure this one out.

I had a job I loved but because I couldn’t handle my supervisors bad attitude that was also bad for me I quit after 11 months putting up with him. Every month he’d have one of his times of the month it seemed I did everything I could as part of my job sometimes even went above, every time he’d have one of these moments he’d either start cursing or blame me for things I didn’t do, cause me to leave his office because he’d start arguing with me. It got to the point we’re i couldn’t see his face anymore because of his bad attitude, I’ve been the second assistant that has left the position because of him. It sucks because I loved what I did and there wasn’t anyone else that could be my supervisor so I left my job thinking I’d find something quick. It’s now the second month without any luck & I am becoming desperate and stressed I don’t know if I should just stop looking or what. I don’t want to loose my skills in what I know the feeling just sucks!

I've never used this but I guess its worth a shot... I walked out of my job about a month ago due to emotional harassment from my manager. They knew it was coming and I still have good references. However I've been in the kitchen for the last five years and have a degree in pastry arts. Due to recent events the last couple years I just wanna take a step back and do something different but I still need to make enough to cover living cost, about 12 an hour. I'm looking for a part time position but it's been difficult to get my foot in the door anywhere that's not a kitchen. Just looking for advice I guess or any opportunities you may know of! Thanks in advance!

I have been working at a place for 2 years, last summer they made me floor manager. As the year ended, they talked to someone about being me protoge, so to speak. But since they started training him in January, I have been stuck in the area I worked before. Plus they started ignoring my requests, especially when it pertains to what needed to be done and wrote me up when the job did not get done. I was disciplined for not doing things their way as well, so when we got behind, it became solely my fault in their eyes despite the fact that the area I'm in is ahead. The job has largely been taken over by the new guy. Won't admit that I have been effectively demoted.

Recently, things have been occurring. I always put family first, me second, job last, so I requested time off to attend a family funeral. It was approved. I also had to attend to visitation, which was the day before which means no overtime. This was approved, then denied last minute with my boss saying the job is more important. They even had the guy they effectively replaced me with babysit me to ensure I did not leave

My mom is in the middle of a cancer scare, and I can't be doing overtime due to a desire to spend more time with her. Well, they did a mandatory 14 hour shift, which I left at 8 hrs for the above reason. My boss said I was being selfish and need to realize that my job comes first. Then said that people aren't doing their part to get production ahead, insinuating that I am being lazy. Then demanded me for 12 hrs on Saturday and Sunday.

I am ready to quit, I was always taught that family comes first no matter what. I forgot that in my 20s, worked them away as a workaholic, and in my 30s have nothing to show for it.

I would love anyone’s thoughts on this topic. The latter part of my resume almost looks like I was job hopping win that is absolutely not the case. I stay at a good employer for as long as possible, and about four years ago I left A wonderful position due to going through a divorce at the time. I felt it more respectful to leave without making mistakes and getting fired and me and this doctor still have a personal relationship to this day. But it is been hard for me to find the best fit over the last few years and I don’t want to appear as if I change jobs often. I am always forthcoming in Why my resume is the way it is but I still like it could be preventing me from good positions I am very qualified for. How can I remedy this? Thank you in advance for any ideas you may have

I resigned from a high paying, salaried position at the end of last year due to job dissatisfaction. Since then, I've been working part time and redirecting my career searches towards positions that will be more personally rewarding. However, the job market in my area is falling short. I've been submitting my resume for positions that I am quilified for, but am having little to no response. I am also applying for entry level positions, and getting more responses...but I'm at a point where if I'm going to be working 40+ hours a week, I want to be working on my career, not just a job. For anyone who's been in the same situation, I pose this: is it better to get a job just to pay the bills and get by, or apply and devote your efforts towards something that will be long term and career oriented???
