Hi Brianna: How did your resume turn out? Let us know if you need any extra help filling it out!

Returning to the job market after attempting to start my own business. Is there anyway I can restructure my resume to make this look less negative?

I have some interesting job experience working political campaigns in my youth that I would like to include on my resume. Is there anyway to add the experience to a resume without sounding political? I don't know the politics of those that will be reading my resume, and I would not want to alienate a potential employer. My job search will be in the public sector, or in the private sector focusing on social responsibility. Thank you all in advance.

Senior experience and know how are no longer an advantages on my resume. Can anyone suggest a better way to market my accumulated and skills work experience more effectively?

Hi Cheryl,
When creating your resume Word offers a variety of different templates you can choose from to format it. No one way is the best; find the one that works best for you. Word for mobile uses the same navigation as it does on desktop so you should find that you can use the desktop instructions to navigate the mobile app as well. To help assist you in setting up a resume in Word you can check out this article. http://www.wikihow.com/Create-a-Resume-in-Microsoft-Word
Or if you're looking for assistance with formatting and finding all the ways to edit and customize your resume this page here will be helpful. http://uncw.edu/career/documents/mswordformattingtips.pdf
Finally, if you're a visual learner like me, it might help to watch this video which shows a great template option and one very similar to the one I use myself! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1ccyPmLHj8
Best of luck on your resume!

I have never been able to find a surefire way to check resumes--it really is hard to know what a company is looking for and a surefire way probably doesn't even exist for that reason! Look at general resume tips online, try to keep it as short and precise as possible. Show it to a friend who has been successful in the sorts of roles that you are interested in?

Great follow-up question about your summary! Think of it as a super-fast commercial where you want to catch someone's attention right from the get-go. Use your summary as a way to summarize what makes you such an awesome employee. List your best skills, any achievements (improved customer satisfaction, developed a new process for streamlining work, etc), and the personality traits that make you a great hire. Keep it short and snappy (ideally, 1-3 sentences). Hope this helps!
