"Resume Tip"

Text-Heavy Templates: Yes or No

Hiring Managers and Recruiters spend minimal time scanning resumes, which is why the visual layout of the resume is crucial.

Be careful because heavy text blocks can be off-putting for most reviewers.

Instead you should format your resume with an "E-pattern," where job titles and lengths are on one line and achievements are bulleted. This helps create a more scannable and visually appealing layout.

So Text-Heavy Templates are a NO! Remember the average amount of time most reviewers spend on any given Resume is about 18 seconds before they make a decision about it. #AWU #disability #resumetips #jobs

"Resume Tip for Remote Work"

Collaboration Tools you need to know how to use for Remote Work!

The work-from-home trend is here to stay, which means employers highly value your ability to collaborate remotely.

Be sure to list tools like Zoom, Slack, Trello, or Microsoft Teams on your resume.

These platforms are now commonplace for team communication, project management, and virtual meetings. If you've managed remote teams or worked on collaborative projects, mention how you used these tools to maintain productivity and communication.

A simple bullet point like "Managed a team of five remote employees using Slack and Trello" demonstrates your ability to thrive in a digital workspace. #AWU #disability #jobs #resumetips

"Resume Tip"

What is in a name, you ask?

Everyone after they create there Resume saves it. Many simply save it as Resume and it is saved in your system as "Resume doc". So when you apply for a job or send it to someone, the file name reads "Reseme doc". Remember, the objective here is to become memorable in the mind of the recruiter or hiring manager.

That said I would highly recommend that after you creat your Resume you save it with Your Name as the file name something like Jane_Doe_Resume.doc. It is then easily identifiable and keeps your name standing out. #AWU #disability #jobs #resumetips
