I am retired and am not interested in a full time permanent job. I want to earn some money for traveling and to save for the future. I don't get this about applying for every temp job. I'm not interested in a job lasting more than three months if that long. I am not interested in temp to hire. What's this about people working several years at one temp job. My understanding was that temporary work was temporary. I did temp work several years ago and I went to the office and took tests and interviewed and if an assignment was called in and I had the skills the temp service would call me and ask if I were interested. It was rare for an assignment to last more than three months. I didn't go to some website with open jobs and have to upload a resume and interview with the client. I can see that for temp to hire but I'm not interested in that. I certainly don't want to work some place for years and not be able to take time off to travel. Where does a person go when she wants to have short term jobs? I don't want to waste of days off traveling to an office and interviewing--wasting my time and bus fare. I thought the purpose of temp work was to fill in as needed and to get work quickly. It was to save time for the client and me not to have to apply and interview for every job. Where can I find something like that?

The thing I loved about both Sweetwater Sound and Lincoln Financial Group was their love of innovation and employee involvement and partnership.

I'm looking for a job to supplement my retirement. My skills are primarily in the area of translating and teaching, but I'm amenable to other types of work. I want to work in Northern Virginia or DC, somewhere I can drive to relatively easily or take Metro to (now Metro is still unreliable and is still undergoing repairs).

I retired because of my wife's health. She is now in a nursing home and I am trying to live on social security and have little extra money at the end of the month. I would like to work so that I can supplement my monthly income.
