Dont understand your question, I was forced out of my job at the height of the economic slow down of 2006, collected unemployment til it ran out and then qualified for early Social Security, never got back in workforce, had open heart surgery in 2014 and just had surgery for throat cancer! It's gone I lost 55 pounds and now want to try working again since my early retirement social security is not enough to live on. Thank you for listening!!

I moved to Cincinnati two years ago. I left a job- early retirement- to go into business here with a business partner( failure). Long story short- I have 30 plus years experience as a sociology professo, with fifteen years experience advising students. I like teaching but can’t glue enough classes together to make it work. Is there any career change consultant who might help me to expand my search? Lots if these job engines are bogus. I’m a bit desparate here

I am semi-retired, don't want to work full time, but I still have some impressive skills that I would like to maintain. I have applied for several jobs that would be great with my skill set. Every time, I have been declined for further consideration, most often because the companies are "going in a different direction". I am healthy, and more than able to do these jobs, but I think my age scares employers off. The kicker is that even though I have been told that these companies are "going in a different direction", I still see these exact jobs listed on the job boards. I know they are not supposed to discriminate because of age, but it appears that they are. It also seems to me that someone who is skilled, and experienced would be a better option, even in the short term, rather than train someone new to the field. Someone, I might add, that will take a very long time to reach my skill level.

I am retired and in my 60’s. I really would like to go back to work but have not had any success in getting hired. My age seems to be a deciding factor. Any suggestions?

Planned my retirement two years in advance. Take note. I am soooo glad I planned ahead. Lots of things to consider.
Whatcha going to do? I am taking a year off to do volunteer work, raising money to charity and going on the speaking tour to get it.
Can you afford it? Yup! Planted some funds specifically for year one.
What’ll you do after? Over the years I acquired skills that fit ideally with part time work, insurance sales, consulting and tax work. This will allow for a lot of time off and still earn some “play money”. I have simple tastes and do not dream of buying a rocket flight trip, so my cash needs are moderate and I can still have a great time touring the US.
Anything else for a lifetime goal? I’d like to write s book to show people how I back a Cracker Jack sales rep. It will be littered with amusing stories that ironically had a connection to sales. Should be fun.
Closing words? Best be ready for retirement, as it comes up real fast and is there before you know it.

I took early retirement from my academic job to go into business( not working), have reentered teaching as an adjunct(Sociology- I have a PhD) . I like teaching Sociology. Adjunct work- they pull the rug out from you for just about any reason - whether or not you perform well or not. I need to get into some other type of work But need job counseling , and I am broke . Any suggestions? I’m really struggling

That it was a great and fun place to work ! The atmosphere and all the employees were very helpful to each other . I worked in knife department for 5 years—- checking knives and packing. I. Also was the first person to build comptroller heads. That was a favorite job of mine ! From there I went to the foundry and was the first woman to work as wax technician! This was a really fun job required some heavy lifting so I retired after 20 years! I wish I was still there but at 80 years old, I doubt that they have any jobs for old ladies! It was the best job that I have had in my life-time !
