Serving as the Meteorology Event Director helped me become more involved in science outreach. I am thrilled to hear how I challenge students and help them succeed, even at the national level. I also am able to reach students and coaches across the nation using a website I developed. I feel much more connected to the science education community through the Science Olympiad. Also, I have learned how to adapt to changing expectations, requirements, and deadlines, and how to provide additional materials and help to students who want more than the basics of meteorology. I am excited to help students learn the really cool and complicated stuff!

It made me feel confident and honored to be called the greatest genius my colleague knows! And I got experience managing an important biotechnology R&D project. And our research proved my theory about reverse transcriptases which resulted in valuable patentable intellectual property.

I'm an unemployed scientist in the life sciences who has been out of work 7 months. When I scan the job boards (glassdoor, indeed, etc) I see that many of the jobs I applied to last September are still being posted. Some of the individual company websites have had the same jobs posted in their "careers" section for years. What is going on? I'm guessing that they want H1B visa people but can't get them until they can prove they can't find any Americans who qualify.

Hi I am an experienced biomedical research scientist looking for a job in the USA job market. Currenty I am an Australian citizen living in Brisbane. I worked as a post-doctoral research scientist at the Unversity of Massachusetts Medical School and later as a senior scientist in a Switzerland based biotech company Evolva Biotech. At present, I am working as an adjunct scientist at the Queensland University of Technology. I have experience in biochemical and molecular biology techniques, protein purification, and in preclinical drug discovery. I am sure that Australian citizen can access a special visa to work in the USA which is different than H1b visa. I will be really grateful if somebody could help me. Thanks Partha Mitra PhD
