Is this the Beginning of the End of the brick and mortar retail industry? These stores typically report big profits after the Holidays but now they’re going bust. Online shopping is has completely taken over this industry. I’m not sure how many retail workers there are in the US but I guess it’s in the millions. What are those workers going to do when all of the brick and mortar retail jobs disappear? Might be a good time to start looking for a career change. http://www.cnbc.com/2017/01/04/is-your-sears-or-macys-closing-heres-a-look-at-the-stores-that-will-go-dark.html

I recently worked for Sears as a seasonal employee from the end of October to Christmas eve. They just took me off of the schedule and no one as yet has confirmed I'm no longer employed there. I'm not stupid...been treated pretty crappy by some there.I plan to move on but don't want to jeopardize last pay.Since then I've read horror stories online from people that worked there before. Does anybody have any more input on this? As bad as pay was still need whatever pay I can get?

Sears at Chico, CA hardly give me hours as I've worked for Sears for over 6 years and I've transferred 4th store as I moved so much but now I'm settled...three Sears stores are the best except Chico sears and I'm deaf and they don't communicate with me and not giving me hours ..I get Iike 3 hours a week or none ... they are not nice management or employees there..

Okay so far it is all the Sears in Texas for right now but don't let that stop you. Good luck and I'll pass more along as I get more stuff. Lisa Renwick.

"Received this in my inbox. Thought I would pass it along - Sears hosting a job fair in Westwood, MA for it’s home improvement positions! Looks like it could be interesting to learn more about the Sales consultant roles that they are hiring for in particular! http://www.eventbrite.com/e/sears-home-improvement-job-fair-westwood-tickets-27027395668?aff=es2
