Everyone needs a bit of help....I guess I'm no different. Age discrimination or "ageism" is a real thing. After 20 years of Teaching, and a failed attempt of 100% commission sales work, I find myself trying to rest on the laurels of very successful yet long ago positions in trying to find one last career. My skill set and resume is loaded with success in a variety of occupations, yet it seems I can't even squeeze into an interview other than cattle-calls.

Hello, I resigned from my job and actively searching for better employment. But, in the meantime, I would like to strengthen my skills on Microsoft software, such as Excel, Word, Power Points, etc. So, for anyone in the accounting field that knows what package I should purchase would be very helpful!! The 3 main choices I saw are: Microsoft Office 2013, MS 2016, & also Microsoft office 365. All comments are welcome!! Thank You All!!

I started working at a nonprofit at 17 as a video editor for their youth program. I felt like my life was on cloud nine during that time and the sky was limit. I was definitely wrong! Five years later, the youth program went downhill and eventually cancelled. Now I'm working as a visitor services assistant and they won't promote me to another position because I don't have enough experience. I don't have a degree but actually learned how to edit videos on the job with the help of a former supervisor; that's how they saw me grow into the job. They know I'm a proactive go getter when it comes to taking on new challenges with work so I don't understand why I need to have previous experience all of a sudden. How can I convince them that I can learn the job?

Sometimes when the pressure is on to find a job, we often don't look beyond what are current skills are. When feeling down, sit down and write all the things you are good at and the skills needed to perform at your current level. Make a second column indicating what you aspire or would like to be doing, note what skills you have that are transferable and those that you need to acquire. Lastly, you may have to look at relocating to a more affordable area, if the area in which you live is beyond your means. You can also reassess your living situation, perhaps moving home for a short time to regroup and take courses to meet the future skills needed for the position you seek.

I would like to know, if its SMART to place different skills on ONE RESUME? Therefore it won't be necessary to upload different Resumes regarding multiple qualifications. Personally, I have a history in working in many different fields, and I tend to misplace some of my needed Resumes. I don't like that I have a sum of four different resumes, and I wonder is it okay to place my skills all in one, on an All-n-One Resume?

I live in Cleveland Texas I have been looking for a beginner site to launch my career from and so far no one will hire me due to non experience. No I do not have three to five years of experience in this line of work but let me tell you that the experience I do have is 16 years cashier and driveing a school bus for two years in Texas and 4 1/2 years in Olean NY does count. I have tried find a job since I graduated with my associates degree in medical billing and coding through Ultimate Medical Academy last November but so far nothing. I have tried Craig's list, hospital sites, monster, career builder and still nothing but A FLAC has called me.
