It seems that social security is not to my benefit at all. At 67, I finally decided to take my retirement, only for it to be a headache. The money I receive does not help much at all, my apartment takes a good chunk of it. Thankfully, I am still working my part time job, but now I am thinking I will never stop working.

I'm looking for part time work in the Houma ,La I have worked in retail sales most of my life I'm on social security so I can't gross more than $1300 a month

I am receiving SSDI, and I want to work full-time as a means to become self-sufficient without financial and medical insurance support of the Social Security Administration. The problem is I may have to take a part-time position and risk earning just enough to be above the SGA (Substantial Gainful Activity) as described by the SSA and the Ticket To Work Program. On the one hand, if monthly earnings remain below $1,130, then SSDI monthly payments will remain intact, however, I have already accumulated two months of excess earnings toward my nine month trial period which means I have a total of seven in which earnings may exceed the SGA over a five year period.
For me, working full-time without the benefits of Social Security is the ultimate gift of accomplishment

Ive been unemployed for nearly 6mos in Vegas. Ive applied for at least 180 jobs and nothing has come of it. Im very depressed and thinking about applying for social security. Disability!
