Community Specialist at Jobcase Inc

Hello Jasmine, Thanks for being a part of our Jobcase community! It looks like in Montana you can be 14 to work at Starbucks. You may, however, need a work permit to do so. That would be something to look into with your city. To see the jobs available at this location, first click on the company name in your post. On the new page, click the Apply tab and scroll down a little until you find the positions you are interested in. Once you have submitted your application, make sure you follow up by giving them a call within 1-2 days to make sure they received it. Here is the phone number they can be reached at: (406) 656-5652 Best of luck to you!

So I went into an interview at a local Starbucks, here in southern California. Just so everyone knows this is my first face to face interview in 6 years as I was laid off recently and couldn't find another desk job. I felt ready, prepared, even excited. Me leaving was quickly stopped by being blocked in my parking spot. Once resolved I rushed over to my interview. The woman interviewing me shook my hand and told me "you're late". I did not make any excuses and owned up to my 4 minutes behind. "There will be no interview today", said with a sly joking tone. She turned around laughing and walked away.

I stood there stunned. Unsure if she was joking as I could still hear her laughing around the corner. I could hear her laughing for a good 6-8 seconds with another co worker jumping in. After 15 seconds standing there, I realized I was the joke. I have never felt so demeaned, disappointed, defeated and humiliated. I calmly buy a coffee and give all of my references and resume to one of the workers who promises to give it to her boss, just in case. She saw it and said "oh, you actually want to buy something." I realized everyone in the store was watching, even patrons behind me.

Is this a proper response by any management? I have disabilities but none in particular mentioned on the application. I could have been bipolar or clinically depressed and that sent me over the edge. I don't feel this was in any way right. Granted I was behind. Has anyone in southern California ever had a similar situation? Anything I can do so that manager will never treat anyone like that again?

Thank you for any feed back.

I looked into this company before and the pay rates vary depending on location/region. Most of the promotions are from within so you can start as a Barista just above min wage and work your way up to ass. manager or supervisor. Call a location near you and inquire.

I prefer not to take online courses if I can use this program at a local university.
