The fact of no longer part of this team

When researching teaching positions between elementary, middle, and high school, you might realize that there is a choice to work at either a private school or a public school. Is there a difference between public and private school when it comes to teaching? For example, do you get paid more for working at a public school or private? Is the behavior of the kids different? What about city versus suburbs? I’m just wondering what it is like to work at each type of school. Thanks!

Decide. Decide what you want to study. Do you enjoy upper or lower level math? Do you enjoy teaching Shakespeare or teaching the alphabet? Decide what interests you most and start by studying something related to that. Volunteer. The best way to decide if this is the right path for you is to try it! Volunteer at local schools with kids of various ages to narrow down what you enjoy, or if you enjoy it at all. Try this as soon as possible! Enroll. If you don’t have the time to attend a college, enroll online! (some great ones are edx.org, which is free, or Coursera, which is pay per class to become certified). The first step is to get your bachelors degree whether that be in science, english, math, etc. Certification. The final step is taking the certification test for the age group and subject that you wish to teach. Make sure you know what state you will be in because you can only be certified for specific states at a time! Each state is different so make sure to keep this in mind!

I am a registered Nurse but the jobs that these "agencies" send for me to apply to saying that I would be interested are out of nowhere! Example, working at a local high school teaching competitive bass fishing! I kid you not! I don't know if people are even behind this. Come to think of it, I don't think computers are that stupid!

I like teaching because unlike many other social works, it creates some lasting bonds between students&teachers. Many students I taught way back about 15 yrs still get in touch. Teaching is inactive. But as a new resident in this country, I need to start from anywhere before picking u.

I have a BS degree taught 26 years and am recovering from a stroke. I need a job in NE Texas but I do not know what I can do. I am working on my recovery I walk with a cane and few minor things are still getting better, What areas do I need to focus onoutside of being a teacher or substitute?

The most consistent thing that I loved at the Duval County School Board was working with the children! My job as a School Psychologist included a variety of tasks. I evaluated children for Special Education and for the Gifted program (and sometimes both at once). I provided counseling services and helped teachers. I participated in on multi-disciplinary Child Study Teams which included parents or guardians, teachers, guidance counselors, and various other school personnel (based on the individual child's needs). I wrote detailed reports about each evaluation I performed. The teachers and other educational personnel were often great to work with, but as in most jobs there were a few who I did not enjoy working with. The report writing was sometimes challenging but seldom was it a task I loved. On the other hand, almost all of the children were great! For several years I worked with preschoolers and that was my most favorite group. Part of my love for working with the preschoolers was because many of the tasks in the preschool evaluations were presented as play; nothing is more fun than playing with a 3 or 4 year old, especially when you can show them how to do something new! They often became excited and became engrossed in what they were doing.
